Executive Job Description | Our client, one of the largest pharmacutical companies in the world is currently seeking to hire an International Tax Director for their facility in Indianapolis, IN. The position is responsible for direction of all US international tax matters including strategy, planning, forecasting, tax compliance, accounting, and IRS audit defense. Responsibilities also include partnering on global international tax matters and serving as direct liaison with international affiliates.
KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES: * Manage and lead US International compliance including technical review and oversight, as well as completion of the foreign tax credit (1118), foreign affiliate information returns 5471), foreign disregarded entity returns (8858), and other international compliance returns. * Successfully file federal tax returns in accordance with due dates. * Complete SOX processes with no material issues or weaknesses. * Oversee Earnings and profits computations. * Manage FTC generation and utilization. * Forecast U.S. international tax return for estimated tax payments. * Provide leadership for all tax matters related to international affiliates including strategy, planning, tax audit, tax compliance and business development/business reorganization in partnership with transfer pricing group. Serve as regional knowledge for legal entity design, transfer pricing, and all global tax policies and practices. * Plan and execute tax efficient global cash movement. * Forecast and report international impact of APB23 on effective tax rate. * Identify and/or lead international projects that create tax value. * Vigorously defend international tax positions taken on US income tax returns. Recommend positions for resolution, appeal, and strategy during IRS examination. Provide support to foreign affiliates to resolve local tax audits and evaluate and implement APAs. * Influence and monitor tax policy and legislation related to taxation of Company's international operations. * Mentor and develop staff and encourage teamwork environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelors degree * Minimum of 8 years tax experience. * Knowledge of tax accounting under FAS109, FIN48, and APB23. * CPA or Chartered Accountant
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/PREFERENCES: * Strong tax planning and research skills. * Organization and project management skills. * Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects. * Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills. * Ability to work in team-oriented environment. * Juris Doctorate or Masters of Tax. * Big 4 or multinational corporate experience. * Fundamental knowledge in U.S. International tax laws. * Knowledge of global transfer pricing, indirect tax and other tax laws. * Foreign language skills helpful.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: * Requires travel to regional affiliates on as needed basis. * May require teleconferences before/after normal work hours.
