Our client is a $ 1 billion+ global consumer products company based in Pacific Northwest with an immediate need for a Global Director, Total Rewards. This is a new position that will report to the VP of HR and have 5 direct reports. Our client is financial sound and expects to grow significantly over the next 5 years. Role will be very visible and have both domestic and global responsibility.

Job Description
Our client currently seeks to add a Global Director, Total Rewards. This role will have the primary responsibility for providing leadership and direction related to all global compensation and benefit programs including base and variable pay programs, equity programs, and benefit programs designed to attract and retain employees. The Global Director, Total Rewards will report to the VP of HR and work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to ensure that global programs are aligned with corporate strategies.

In this role you would:

• Develops and implements a total rewards strategy (including base pay, incentive compensation, long term incentive plans) that is innovative, market competitive and designed to drive and reward employee performance.
• Partner with business leaders to proactively identify issues and recommend compensation solutions. Works closely with regional HR Directors to ensure programs are aligned with regional strategies and needs.
• Balance a global Compensation strategy with differences among local country market practices and regulations in the environment of continually changing global economies. Anticipates strategic compensation issues brought about through changes in stock price, labor market trends or new trends in Compensation.
• Partner, where appropriate, with key external business consultants and service providers to achieve the best products and service, while appropriately balancing cost and budgets.
• Ensure through audits and reports that compensation and benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Sponsors the development of policies, procedures and guidelines that comply with the statutory framework of our global locations.
• Share functional expertise, industry insights and best practices with internal clients, peers, and others across the company as appropriate. Acts as a role model with particular emphasis on personal accountability, business acumen and leadership.
• Manage the corporate compensation team responsible for conducting job analysis, competitive benchmarking and structuring new hire offers, promotions, adjustments, transfers, etc. Annually, manages corporate salary administration (base pay, bonus, equity) including program budget, rollout, communications, and reporting. Partners with regional HR Directors on annual program design and budgets.
• Evaluate and analyzes the costs and effectiveness of current benefit programs and develops strategies to enhance and improve their impact.
• Work closely with regional HR Directors and all aspects of global employee communication with respect to compensation and benefit programs including communication materials, plan documents, open enrollment strategy, etc. In conjunction with regional HR Directors, develops and communicates the Company's compensation philosophy, practices and programs to employees in multiple, diverse locations (i.e. US and internationally). Successfully develops, brands, and communicates effective total rewards strategies for the attraction and retention of key talent.
• Lead and manages the compensation and benefits team to develop best practices, enhance staff development and provide superior compensation and benefit services to the company.
• Manage the development and implementation of employee wellness programs to promote wellness and the benefits of health behaviors and activities.
• Streamline and automates internal processes, taking advantage of PeopleSoft HRMS and other cost-effective software solutions for delivering benefits, incentives and base pay.

Qualifications

To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, you must have the following:

• Undergraduate Degree in HR, Business or related field with a strong component of
quantitative sciences, such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is desirable.

• 8-10 years of HR leadership experience in a global organization with leading edge human capital management including 5+ years in a Senior Global Compensation and Benefits role providing international support.

• Proven proficiency and experience in Compensation and Benefit program development and design.

• Ability to lead a team and also function as a working manager by completing routine compensation tasks and managing annual salary administration functions.

• Expert knowledge of performance management, change management and the integration of compensation and HR metrics to support Talent Management.

• Strong track record in proactively leading strategic thinking and translating strategy into program delivery.

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, conceptual, project management and communication skills.

• Proven ability to influence strategy and drive change in a complex business environment.
• Extensive experience with variable pay components highly desired.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills are also a requirement, as is the ability to influence and collaborate with others.
• Strong presentation and public speaking experience.
• Must be able to travel, including international travel.
