Job Description:
The solution architect will support the growth, reputation and delivery quality for delivered solutions to clients by analyzing, defining and initiating architected solutions for systemic business challenges. Working directly with business relationship and delivery professionals, the responsibilities will be to understand the technical, functional and organizational requirements of clients and translating those requirements into solutions that address the complete lifecycle of client interaction (early discussions, advanced demonstrations, winning proposals, building solutions, delivering solutions, evaluating solution effectiveness). The individual will be working on initiatives that will exceed several million dollars in complex technology development that must prove business value for large and complex organizations. Proposals, as well as solutions, will require precise specification of the approach and architecture as well as the value the client can expect for what is delivered. Proposals will leverage strong corporate qualifications and customer references in technology development through application of configurable methodology to client needs. The solution architect will lead teams in the full lifecycle of new business to qualify, define and build equity that can be used to demonstrate, propose and win work, train teams to deliver the solutions, and work with delivery managers to ensure successful solution implementations. The individual will be measured for the equity built within the solution portfolio and the utility of the equity as return on effort expended for all teams engaged in this process.

The primary responsibilities are to:
•Manage the development of solutions to ensure development of reusable equity,
•Develop technical and business solutions from a variety of business challenges, coordinating specialty skills to ensure that solutions are not only appropriate, but provide a competitive edge in value and innovation,
•Coordinate solution concepts with general managers responsible for client relationships and delivery teams. Communicate solution information in ways that are responsive to client needs and demonstrate the equity they would receive for doing business with Client Firm.
•Establish solution priorities for early client meetings, market awareness, solution development, responsiveness of proposals and training or assistance to delivery teams to ensure solutions continue to deliver on their promise to clients and Client Firm,
•Work with general managers to qualify various opportunities and be ready to write winning proposals for the opportunities with the greatest payback,
•Coordinate proposal activity with alliance partners and recruiting activities and assist in identifying and tracking resources required to have a winning solution and proposal each time,
•Develop presentation materials for new business prospects on solution concepts,
•Other duties to include:
•Managing administrative individuals in the production of physical solution documents and technical components as required,
•Managing the timely support or general managers across a number of potential contributors to solutions in various centers of expertise, and
•Manage the accumulation of solution knowledge in ways that facilitate work transfer and backup performance by others.
Position Objectives
•Manage solution support of market opportunities to:
•Maximize return on investment for defined equity
•Gain the highest value solution points on proposals that we qualify for,
•Expend effort on the most likely solution successes first and participate with balance throughout all phases of client participation with solutions in support of general manager opportunity pipelines,
•Keep the equity increasing on solution priorities
•Seek and coordinate other architect assistance to meet diverse deadlines

•Define compelling market solutions
•Have demonstrations of equity available for known client needs
•Define resource requirements and estimates for all phases of solution effort (concept to delivery)
•Build architectures and components to solve functional and technical business challenges
•Achieve and demonstrate value to resolve the challenges with better service or lower cost to the client
•Negotiate internal and external alliance and support relationships to provide proactive solution support and promote a positive role image
•Communicate approved messages with solution contacts at client organizations
•Streamline operations for rapid response to contingencies

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
Desired
•Masters degree in a technical or business discipline.
Experience
•12+ years in solutions lifecycle effort (concept, architect, demonstrate, propose, prepare, deliver); at least 6 years delivering business and technology solutions
•5 years of specific experience in writing compelling proposals for technical solutions
•Proven delivery history and solution track record, expertise and references
•Strong delivery leader experience & solution/method development examples
•Proven professional demeanor
Desired
•Knowledge of telemedicine, oil & gas, energy/utilities, financial or public sector vertical solutions
• contract experience and knowledge of terms and conditions as they apply to lifecycle solution development and delivery
Personal Qualities
Willingness to travel significantly on a global basis
•Willing to apply effort required to get the job done
•Ability to work effectively in an aggressive small business environment
•Ability to work effectively with personnel at the executive level
