Executive Job Description | The Enterprise Architecture team is a cross-function group of professionals who are responsible for creating an EA practice that will articulate and drive to a “Sustainable Information Systems Platform to support the business”. The EA team is responsible for articulating the IS system platform strategy (application, data and technology) in support of the business operating model. As a group they are responsible for IS solution designs complying with the IS system strategy. This mandate is carried out in an interactive consulting manner, with the team training and demonstrating to the IS organization how to build solutions against the strategic requirements.
The role of the EA Director of Application and Technology within Global Information Systems is both strategic and tactical. Strategically the role is responsible for collaboratively defining the 3-5 year architectural roadmap across enterprise applications and technology. You will be responsible for leading a team of multi-disciplinary architects, with a heavy emphasis in SAP solutions, in creating and maturing architectural and governance practices. You will educate and influence key stakeholders throughout the business. Tactically, this role will drive the coordinated application, technology and infrastructure requirements for executing the roadmap over time. You will be responsible for governing all technology introductions and changes to the Corporate environment. Additionally, you will lead the architecting of major applications and provide direction and guidance to project managers and developers to ensure that requirements are met in an architecturally sound manner, meeting fundamental technical requirements such as scalability, security, flexibility, extensibility, reusability and supportability.
Additionally, you will manage the process of innovation and new capability introductions to the enterprise. The successful candidate will maintain awareness of ongoing industry and technology changes. Qualifications – List what qualifications and skills are required for this position • 15+ years of experience within information systems or functional business unit. 5+ years in leadership positions. • 7+ years experience in establishing and maturing Enterprise Architecture (Process/Information/Application/Technology) function and teams. • Successful delivery of enterprise wide systems/technology current state, future state and transformation roadmaps, and architecture/technology review/governance processes. • Experience with EA frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman and EA tools. • 5+ years recent experience with SAP applications and technical components (e.g. NetWeaver, ECC 6.0, SCM, CRM, etc) and infrastructure (servers, storage, network, etc) architecture. • Expertise in enterprise, application, and technology architecture/design artifacts and mechanisms. • System landscape optimization expertise required. • Deep and broad exposure and understanding of both infrastructure and cross-functional technologies required. • Thought leader with the ability to drive change across a large organization working with IT and business leadership. • Customer-service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills. • Ability to provide knowledge transfer through documentation and training. • Ability to travel occasionally for training, conferences, or other business functions. • Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field. Masters degree in Science/Technology or Business Administration a plus.
