Executive Job Description | Central Virginia Distance Learning Instructional Technologist IT - An Instructional Technologist for Distance Learning is a team member who can bridge the field of information technology and instructional systems design. The IT specialist will leverage their comprehensive knowledge of operating systems, browsers, multimedia software, and web-based programming languages, and learning technologies to establish and maintain a distributed learning environment. The technologist will be the primary steward and manager of the organizations learning management and content management operations.
Responsibilities also include frequent communications both written and oral with leadership and with other distributed learning programs across the DoD and the Intelligence Community. The IT will also provide analytic-based assessments on new technologies and understand the business implications to employing these solutions. They will work closely with the senior Distance Learning Lead.
M.A., M.S., or PhD in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, Communications, Computer Science, Education, Distance Learning, or Human Performance Technology or significant commensurate years of relevant experience implementing learning technology solutions. Eight years related experience, four years in training/education including at least two years directing/applying the principals of systematic instructional design or performance-based/competency-based training.
