Position Overview Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development, this position is responsible for leading the Compensation and Benefits communications strategy, development, and delivery. In addition, this position is responsible for the creation and execution of the company's global Compensation and Benefits program.
Responsibilities
Compensation Leads the implementation and administration of executive compensation and employee compensation policies and programs. Develop and communicate a compelling Global Total Rewards strategy to enhance A123Systems Employee Value Proposition. Monitor global compensation and benefits trends. Align A123Systems compensation philosophy, strategic goals and corporate objectives externally and internally. Develop corporate bonus plans, equity compensation and long term incentive programs that promote value-driven environment and culture. Manage Director, North American Compensation and Benefits, and all C&B staff worldwide. Ensure competitive pay positioning globally that supports the acquisition and retention of top talent. Creates effective communications strategy for A123s compensation and benefits programs. Develop and implement compensation and benefits programs to support international assignments. Ensure compliance with all international compensation and benefits regulations. Oversee international annual salary planning (exempt and non-exempt).
Benefits Create and manage global Health & Welfare benefits programs. Monitor regulatory environment in all countries of operation and ensure compliance. Experienced with annual compliance reporting, Benefit audits to include vendor management and annual open enrollments. Keeps abreast of international benefits laws and emerging trends. Support the companys 401k savings plan and administrative committee. Provide strategic, governance and policy leadership, as well as implementation and support, to the Companys deferred compensation programs. Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or other related field. Masters Degree preferred. Minimum 15+ years of increasingly responsible Compensation and Benefits experience in a global company. International leadership of compensation and benefits. Thorough understanding of Wage & Labor laws and Benefits Laws pertaining to the USA, Asia and Germany. Strong knowledge of current market practices and trends in compensation (executive and non-executive) and benefits. Hands-on experience designing and implementing executive compensation programs including annual incentives and long-term incentives (stock options, restricted stock and long-term performance plans). Knowledge and experience with international compensation and benefits issues and practices. Strong analytical, communication skills, project management and prioritization skills. Strong personal work style, which is perceived to be even-handed, fact-based, and fair. Ability to lead, and work successfully with senior management and line HR to generate high degree of respect and build partnerships across functions and organizations. Certifications in Compensation and Pension planning including Benefits highly desirable. Fluent Mandarin strongly preferred.
