Executive Job Description
Key Elements of the Position
The Director of Talent Acquisition, reporting to the Chief People Officer, is chartered with a critical building role in the first year. It will be essential to create standard practices and tools as well as begin the strategic planning for year two. The second year will evolve to even greater emphasis in strategy as the function evolves in support of business growth.

Most important at this time is to build client relationships, understand talent needs in this unique culture and then build the structure, system, resources and practices for attracting and selecting top talent. The CHRO and the President understand that getting the right talent is a competitive advantage just like their dental practice competency which sets them apart in the marketplace.

This Director will develop first year plans, define required budgets and be creative in getting things done with efficiency and effectiveness as their guide. This leader will help implement the new ATS technology as well as create the business partnerships and field dialogue about talent which eventually drives new leadership behavior. The Director will lead and roll-up their sleeves to assist in building the function and in select cases, recruit for top management talent.


Key Responsibilities

The Director will have the opportunity to develop a staffing system that is recognized for being collaborative, professional, responsive, and highly driven to achieve agreed upon goals. The key responsibilities include:
• Design, revise and implement a first year talent acquisition plan to build foundation for the company's talent needs.
• Identify and institutionalize best practices as they relate to processes, tools, systems, and training, to support the success of the staffing function, based on internal customer satisfaction.
• Provide staffing expertise, and counsel to both human resources and senior management leaders within the organization on a variety of talent acquisition issues.
• Effectively develop and communicate the employer brand through all staffing communications to ensure the attraction of a workforce that is “best fit” for this culture.
• Manage and mentor a team of 6-10 staff that is competent, professional, responsive to customers, and highly motivated to meet agreed upon objectives.
Accomplishments First 1st Six Months
1. New ATS - Gain understanding of the new ATS system and support the implementation with refined process, tracking of metrics, coaching of managers and training of Recruiters.
2. Assess Team - Develop a recruiting team plan which includes evaluation of resources, refining structure and clarifying roles.
3. Build Relationships – Meet with clients to understand their business, learn the nuances and critical dimensions of running and building a dental practice in order to better understand their talent needs.
4. Train on Assessment – Coach Hiring Managers and Recruiters on assessment of talent against the core competencies of leaders who succeed within PDS. Adopt tools that will support this work and build confidence among Hiring Managers.
5. Create Metrics – Determine the right metrics for management based on what is learned from the client discussions.


Background Required
• 8 plus years Corporate talent acquisition management experience required; 3 years in a similar role with a retail and/or health care related company.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or other related field.
• Masters degree desirable. Equivalent combination of education & experience considered.

Experience Required
• Track record of successful recruiting at all levels, including direct sourcing of candidates for complex hard to fill jobs. (Use of advanced sourcing techniques, networks, 2.0 methodologies, employee referral programs)
• Experience in supporting a diverse internal customer base by learning and understanding their business, objectives and goals.
• Experience developing and reporting meaningful metrics – ability to share stories on how this supported improvement in the function.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, including the development of highly successful teams, effective mentoring, motivating and empowering a staff.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of laws, rules, and regulations governing employment law.

• Strategic/Analytical Orientation: this person must have strong business acumen, analytical and conceptual abilities, to set a plan, work the plan and measure as you go for performance improvement.
