Executive Job Description | COMPANY: Established in 1999, this 10 year old, fast growing to mid-sized, 230 employee medical device innovators, manufactures and markets surgical tools based on its proprietary technology. Headquartered in Southern New Hampshire their devices are sold throughout the United States, Europe and Asia and have treated patients in over 300,000 surgical procedures spanning a wide range of therapeutic areas.
POSITION: Director Organizational Effectiveness reporting to VP HR/Legal and Compliance
IDEAL CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will be a forward thinking innovator, able to challenge the status-quo, with the ability to build relationships, is resourceful, passionate, and has the ability to be hands-on if needed and assist in leading the organization to embrace its Six Guiding Principles. An independent, flexible, team player who is a very good problem solver, is driven by what is right and has the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, work in a fast paced environment and deliver on commitments will do well in this role. The successful candidate will be given the responsibility and latitude to build an organization that will affect the growth and culture of the company. The ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization from the plant floor to the executive offices is critical and a “management by wandering around” approach is necessary. Eight years of manufacturing experience is required with five years in a leadership role. A BS/BA is required with a Masters or MBA a plus. Expert knowledge in two or more HR disciplines is required with a PHR or SPHR a plus.

Requirements and Responsibilities
Summary: Functions as business partner and adviser to key functional and operational business groups. Manages Human Resource programs and services for assigned areas on division-wide basis including remote sites and multiple locations. Recommends and develops strategic plans, policies, procedures and programs relative to the HR function for staffing, employee relations, organizational design, compensation, training, benefits, systems administration, HR policies and communications. Provides coaching and counseling to functional leaders and employees. Determines organizational objectives and delegates assignments to HR direct reports. Acts as consultant for Vice Presidents for functional groups and senior management. Participates in executive updates and management review meetings as required.

Responsible for day-to-day operations and execution of the implementation of HR programs including: 1. Participates in setting strategic goals and plans. 2. Responsible for determining specific goals and objectives for areas of responsibility based on business goals, HR strategic goals and organizational needs of functional groups supported. 3. Develops compensation programs including job development, job evaluation, performance management, and salary planning programs. 4. Partners with cross functional leaders in other countries to coordinate programs for internationally based employees. 5. Develops and participates in training programs and projects for functional areas of responsibility. 6. Partners with HR colleagues and management to identify training needs and coordinate training program development and implementation. May conduct training programs. 7. Manages Human Resources staff to ensure the effective fulfillment of all HR programs, legal requirements, policies, procedures, and assigned objectives. May include International staff. 8. Develops and maintains an effective organization by developing recruitment strategies and selecting, developing and motivating personnel to achieve objectives. 9. Works with functional managers to design programs and organizations that best develop and utilize human resources. 10. Consults with managers on leadership topics including organizational design, motivational strategies, employee career development, high potential development, performance problems, employee attitude surveys and succession planning. 11. Provides coaching and counseling to managers and employees. 12. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned
