Summary:
The Director of IT Service Management is responsible for leading the IT team responsible for all aspects of MedImmune’s Information Technology Service Management including the Service Desk, End User Computing (EUC), Change Management, Configuration Management, Asset Management, and Service Catalog. The Director is responsible for working with various Service Support organizations to assist in the development of project timelines, coordination of work, the setting and tracking of various goals and deliverables, and key indicators of IT Performance (KPI’s).
Responsibilities:
- Drive service delivery satisfaction with outsources service delivery partner through metrics and management.
- Develop ITSM process strategies for supporting the achievement of operational excellence in MedImmune's IT operations globally.
- Build strong partnerships with the senior operations leaders in MedImmune's business units and to other senior IT management.
- Develop innovative approaches for leading change management activities necessary for achieving operational excellence
- Work closely with IT Process owners to develop consistent approached to each ITSM process.
- Analyze current state of ITSM processes in order to determine the best business improvement opportunities working in collaboration with the business units.
- Regularly present strategies, plans and progress/feedback on initiatives to the IT Leadership Team.
- Identifying, designing, implementing and maintaining the processes and policies in accordance with industry practices.
- Coordinate and lead weekly Change Advisory Board meeting to facilitate priorities, new requests, as well as, in-progress implementations and upgrades.
- Develop requirements for ITSM tool and conducting training to support the Change Management and all other assigned processes.
- Define and implement Key Performance Indicators and Metrics for support and operational related activities.
- Provide adequate documentation, training, and mentoring to internal and external IT resources to ensure appropriate awareness and competency levels with the ITSM processes.
- Lead efforts to improve processes with appropriate qualitative and quantitative measures while leveraging established ITIL guidelines and industry benchmarks.
- Establish and maintain all documentation related to ITSM processes, including IT Support, metrics reporting, and end user communications.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required, MS or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years experience in IT Operations executing and managing one of more ITIL processes.
- 5+ years experience in IT process design and implementation including at least one year as an overall ITSM process architect
- ITIL V3 Foundations certification required, high desire Practitioner Certifications or Service Manager Certificate (e.g. ITIL Master)
- Ability to apply knowledge of existing ITSM processes and industry process engineering methodologies and principles to daily assignments and activities
- Strong understanding and use of KPIs and metrics to manage performance
- Ability to document and maintain ITIL Framework support documentation (e.g., processes procedures, workflows, communication/training material, service catalog, etc.)
- Ability to lead the development of new processes and procedures within IT working with stakeholders from across IT groups and business units.
- Ability to support the integration and organizational adoption of IT processes, standards, policies and controls
- Strong relationship management experience
- Ability to lead a small team of process analysts and to lead group facilitation and training sessions
- Experience in ITSM improvement project using ITIL framework for a large, global company
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills.
- Experience operating in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment is required.
