LOCATION: Danbury, CT or Braintree, MA

SALARY/COMPENSATION: Base Salary Targeted at $125K+

COMPANY: A leading provider of diversified environmental field services. The projects they perform range in scope from routine maintenance work, utilizing vacuum trucks and high-pressure washing equipment, to large-scale site remediation and abatement. With operations based in strategically-located resource centers along the United States eastern seaboard, they serve a broad customer base of marine, industrial, commercial and government clients. Core competencies include Industrial & Marine Cleaning, Site Remediation, Decontamination & Abatement, and Emergency Response.
The Chief Financial Officer will be an integral part of the executive management team, reporting directly to the President/CEO.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting
a. Oversee (10) person financial staff
b. Overall responsibility for quality and accuracy of financial reporting
c. Manage monthly closing packages and reporting formats to:
i. Operating Managers
ii. Board of Directors
iii. External (Bank)

2. Management of External Relationships
a. Banking
i. Prepare and submit quarterly submittals
ii. Coordinate 2x annual meetings with management team and Bank
iii. On-going relationship and dialogue on current financial performance and upcoming credit needs
b. Auditors
i. Oversee annual audit (vs. review) of financials
ii. Coordinate Year End Audit
iii. Present findings and recommendations to Board
c. Insurance Broker
i. Coordinate relationship with Insurance Broker (GL, Auto, Property, Pollution and WC)
ii. Provide input and guidance on annual WC audits
iii. Work together with CEO and HR to administrate company benefit plans, including: 401(k), health and dental, PTO accruals, et al

3. Partnership with Operations
a. Work in partnership with Regional VP’s (Operating Managers) to drive programs that increase profitability and efficiency
b. Provide meaningful analysis and recommendations on business performance

4. IT Role
a. Work with Executive Team to assure that systems are properly tied together and supportive of our overall business process
b. Manage external IT support

5. Strategic
a. Assist CEO on pertinent Merger & Acquisition (M&A) analysis, recommendations and due diligence

DESIRED ABILITIES:

- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or Business-related; MBA highly desired

- A minimum of 10 years experience is required. Environmental, construction, or similar service industry experience required, as projects involve fixed price bids, or time and materials service agreements, with work-in-process tracking.

- Proven ability to be a good communicator is critical. Looking for a hands-on executive who can "connect the dots" with regards to operations, and be comfortable going into the field.

- Familiarity with Spectrum Construction Management Software is a plus.
