Executive Job Description | POSITION TITLE: Chief Financial Officer
REPORTING TO: President/CEO
LOCATION: A Major City in Southeast United States
This company began doing business in 1993 and has since grown into a thriving company. The company participates in many facets of the utility servicing industry including: Meter Testing and Calibration, Contract Meter Reading, Field Services, AMR Services, Meter Packages, Capacitor Bank Assemblies, Project Management/Coordination and Consulting.
This is a pure service organization. Its objectives include utilizing its expertise in metering, AMR and data services to supplement and support utility customers as they move forward in today's competitive industry. The company’s approach is unique to the industry; combining technology hardware, software and service to deliver a differentiated and more complete meter upgrade and billing solution. And, it demonstrates the ethics, integrity and conscience to serve as an excellent partner to its customers. POSITION SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the President, the CFO will provide direction and coordination for all major aspects of the Company’s financial systems and processes as required to effectively support the achievement of the Company’s objectives, and help grow the enterprise profitably.
More specifically, to:
• Provide financial reporting and analysis, financial modeling, sensitivity analysis, etc. to facilitate the realization of the Company’s goals. • Forecast and anticipate internal and external financial factors in order to help guide strategy. • Provide insights that lead to better business decisions across the organization regarding pricing, product mix, market focus and mergers and acquisitions. • Lead merger and acquisition team analysis and merger integration when deal is complete. • Mitigate financial risks by finding and leading the effort to implement financial risk mitigation tools such as hedging, etc. • Lead in the financial implementation of Company directives. • Be responsible for the entire range of financial activities for the Company including accounting procedures, budgeting, capital planning and monitoring the business for areas of opportunity (savings, growth, etc.). • Provide aggressive cost control leadership. • Participate with senior management to identify ways to achieve financial targets and “hit the numbers”. • Communicate with the Executive Team regarding strategic and tactical financial plans for the business and ensure Companywide understanding of financial parameters. • Lead the planning function for the three year plan as well as budgets for all functions and levels of the Company. • Interact with investors to ensure we all understand what we can and cannot achieve financially.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• 10-15 years of increasing responsibility as a Financial Manager and leader (not just an auditor). • Significant experience in a service industry. • Outstanding financial acumen. • Strong strategic acumen with a keen sense for detail. • Proven analytically-driven, decision making skills. • A successful track record of unblemished financial reporting. • Track record of outstanding and strict cost control, including creating and implementing a culture of accountability from employees. • Proven ability to seek, identify and capture operational efficiencies. • Proactive and results oriented. A track record of aligning the elements of organizational performance for financial success. • Proven ability to function effectively in a dynamic, growth oriented environment. • Proven ability to drive all company processes so as to successfully implement strategic initiatives. • M&A experience.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
• Certified Public Accountant. • Prior experience as an effective CFO is preferred. • Successful experience of financial responsibility in a service company with multi-state operations.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
• BA/BS Accounting, Finance or Financial Management
EDUCATION PREFFERED
• MBA, or Masters in a Business Discipline
