Job Description :
Independently manages and directs projects for business units/therapeutic areas of responsibility. Plans, implements, analyzes,
Interprets, and reports on assigned pipeline and marketed products in order to provide management and marketing with accurate, timely, and relevant business strategy actions and to optimize growth opportunities for global markets. Projects are always international in scope and require a continuous and close interface with the eight main (plus other countries).
2. Responsible for on-going marketing research using secondary data
(i.e., ims audits, datamonitor, decision resources, etc.) To provide a continuous source of benchmarking analyses, trend analysis in therapeutic areas, market / competitor intelligence. Obtaining competitive intelligence based upon industry contacts with agencies of expertise, as well as having access to a world-wide network of knowledgeable individuals or organizations in order to provide company with knowledge to be used pre-emptively regarding competitive Product/marketing activities.
3. Responsible for conducting international primary research studies - Including definition of best methodology and agency selection- in response to specific marketing /management problems or opportunities. Provides market feedback to support global strategic marketing with Claims driven development and product positioning.
4. Coordinates and harmonises with VPs, directors and other senior Managers, marketing, as well as country representatives in the design And analysis of primary research projects. Responsibilities include: 1) Development of the agency brief, 2) agency selection, 3) selection of Methodology and appropriate technique to determine sampling frame, 4) Participation in field study, 5) evaluation of results and 6) derivation of consequences for potential or planned marketing programs. Also, Guides the analysis and interpretation of univariate and multivariate Statistical techniques (e.g. factor analysis, discriminate analysis, Perceptual mapping, and conjoint analysis).
5. Has a key role in worldwide strategic analysis of the market Potential of existing and pipeline products and licensing opportunities In 8 main countries. Works with sm, snpm, research, pd, countries, Regions and other departments to provide a comprehensive analysis of the Current market, as well as long-range projection of trends.
6. Responsible for developing complex computer-based market forecasting Models for the global part of the mifri /kufri planning process.
7. Supports SM product groups and SM marketing excellence in the Development of sales metrics and brand performance analysis in the 8 Main countries
8. Identifies sources of epidemiological data which encompasses global Markets. Co-operates with global HEOR group on validation of data and Sources.
9. Acquires and maintains knowledge of professional practices and Techniques and when appropriate acquiring the latest advanced market Research techniques to address marketing research problems.
10. Identifies, verifies, and reports industry trends on a global scale, And estimates their impact to therapeutic areas, to marketed or pipeline Products to validate or redirect global marketing direction and/or Strategy.
11. Identifies new markets of interest. Guides research With accurate unmet needs and market potential analysis in new Therapeutic areas.
12. Negotiates with, selects and supervises internationally operating Marketing research suppliers and consultants for work on project areas To optimize cost/time/quality trade-offs. Evaluates contract suppliers' Work to ensure specifications are met. Controls market research costs to Assure accuracy to charges and maintenance within agreed upon project Budget. Is responsible for secrecy agreements and initiates legal Contracts.
Your qualifications
Requires an MBA or other advanced degree in fields such as life Sciences, economics, statistics, public health or equivalent experience. Degree beyond MBA or equivalent experience preferred. Eight to ten years Of applied business experience; at least four to six (6) of which are in Pharmaceutical marketing research area.
One (1) year supervisory and/or Marketing research training experience, or equivalent background is a Plus.
Requires thorough knowledge of audits, questionnaire design (to elicit Qualitative and quantitative feedback without introducing bias), and Data analysis including technical approaches such as conjoint, Perceptual mapping, and factor analysis. The incumbent must have the Ability to interface with high levels of internal management,
Communication agencies and marketing research suppliers/consultants, to Lead and coordinate projects through international and interdisciplinary Groups, and be able to clearly and concisely communicate, both verbally And in writing.
Incumbent must have a sound knowledge of marketed and pipeline products, Of therapeutic markets, marketing activities and objectives. Incumbent Must be able to work with a high degree of independence, plan, organize And implement multiple projects within time and budget constraints
