IT Application Development & Support Manager

Our client is seeking an IT Application Development & Support (ADS) Manager to lead the charge on the transition to cloud-based systems to support international operations. This is an opportunity to join a department bringing cutting edge technology to over 30 offices worldwide.
The ADS Manager provides hands-on technical leadership and project management for a team of 4 – 6 developers. The position is accountable for the design, development and implementation of all IT development, data warehouse, and legacy system development work, as well as application support for these areas.
As a resource manager, s/he will coach, mentor, and provide direction for the technical team as they transition from their legacy skill sets to web services development. S/he will own the skills development and training plans for team members.
As a technical project manager, s/he will lead the technical team in design, development, and implementation of all projects from inception through testing, review and application support. The manager will complete hands-on development work as needed to enhance/improve the code developed by team members.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or closely related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience; Master’s Degree in IT Management is a plus 10+ years of experience in programming, analysis and design/development 7+ years of experience serving in a technical development lead role 3+ years of experience in management of IT resources 2+ years of production support experience Detailed technical knowledge and solid hands-on experience with coding, debugging, performance tuning and troubleshooting the following: ASP.Net 2.0, ASP.Net 3.5 C# or VB.Net SQL Server 2005, SQL 2008 HTML, CSS, Javascript Web Services, XML, SOAP Oracle Database 10g; Oracle PL/SQL Oracle Forms 4.5 is a plus Business Objects is a plus Fluency in written and oral English; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to talk in non-technical terms Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions; ability to prioritize and manage commitments and adjust to changing priorities Ability to set direction, manage expectations and lead cross-functional teams that are geographically dispersed A strong commitment to customer service Demonstrated experience in incorporating new technologies in a business environment
