As the technology manager (CIO) for the newly created direct lending unit (RoadLoans), worked with Executive management to define, construct and maintain an infrastructure and operational components needed to conduct business in a B2C and B2B e-commerce environment. RoadLoans was profitable six months prior to plan. Within three years of startup, monthly loan originations exceeded 55 million and growing with total receivables outstanding of well over one billion dollars.
Conceived, designed, and built an E-commerce based direct lending company (RoadLoans). Loan origination system consists of an Internet based loan application, underwriting (with applicant scoring), customer service, and loan funding. This is a large-scale integrated online application utilizing a relational database across multiple hardware and software platforms. Highly scalable and easily changed to accommodate business growth. RoadLoans was profitable within sixteen months and is now a major component to Triad’s success. Defined and implemented system and business process changes to accommodate new products: Refinance, Person to Person and Lease Buy-out. Infrastructure designed for an uptime of over 99%. Implemented Project Management Office (PMO). Defined policies and procedures. Interfaced with Executive team to establish business priorities and status. Managed and tutored Project Managers in the development and implementation of hundreds of successful computer technology projects. Created IT Policies and Procedures for all infrastructure and software related activities including budgeting, cost/benefit analysis, estimating, benefit tracking, project initiation and prioritization, systems development, disaster recovery, business resumption planning and ongoing maintenance. Effectively used business process re-engineering to restructure process flow improving productivity by 30%. Key components; the development of application software in support of inbound/outbound collection calls utilizing Davox and Concerto hardware/software as well as elimination of paper flow through effective use of FileNet technology. Managed the effort to implement the FileNet solution. Resulted in the electronic handling of all loan origination and servicing documents. Significant reductions in loan collection costs, headcount and floor space recovered the $1.7 million project cost in the first year of operation. Defined the first standard Internet based communication protocol for loan application handling within a B2B direct lending environment through collaborated with the CIO’s of various prime-lending financial institutions. Currently in use with over 25 lending partners. Implemented STAR standard interface with Dealer Track and RouteOne.
