Researched new applications and technologies. Oversaw major core systems implementations. Participated in creation of standard SDLC. Established offshore outsourcing in Indial.
USA Bank, INDIA – New Delhi, India, 1997 to 1999
VICE PRESIDENT AND COUNTRY TECHNOLOGY HEAD (CIO)
Reorganized the management process for systems development to better involve key product functions and IT staff, building improved systems aligned to business needs and resulting in shorter delivery times.
Installed new technology-based services and solutions such as IVR, ATMs, profitability metrics, and relationship banking. Architected a centralized remote loan application processing and tracking system to extend business reach, reduce costs and staffing, significantly shortening credit decision time, which as a competitive advantage helped secure significant business.
Prepared the business proposal for an offshore software development center in India for low cost efficient development of global BofA needs. Sold the concept through many layers of senior management and worked on its implementation.

Handled all aspects of distressed business operations to ultimately sell the company. Streamlined all areas, rationalized staff, and managed outsourcing offshore to reduce costs and improve revenues.
CHIEF MANAGER Operations and technology for bank in Middle East
Managed 51 branches in 3 countries, (650 people, and $20 million budget). Restructured the organization, centralized operations and re-engineered work processes to achieve improved performance at reduced staff levels. Automated all branches and several new operations areas, such as trade finance. Redesigned branches for better customer flow and service. Improved productivity and customer service (25% staff reduction) despite increasing volumes. The bank became profitable within a year of takeover from BCCI.
