Led the ramp-up of a new department, including the development of all operating systems. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, Rochester, NY, 1992-1994 Accountable for process and project engineering and for maintenance, supporting an 800-employee contact lens manufacturing facility. Managed $4M budget and 60 people. Implemented $1.5M lean cost improvement strategy involving several major process revisions, designed in close collaboration with an equipment suppliers.
Mobil Chemical Company, Plastics Division, Pittsford, NY Senior Development Engineering Supervisor, Macedon, NY Responsible for divisional product and process engineering for $80M polyethylene grocery sack business. Formed and led a multi-functional team which improved operating performance of $22M expansion by 25% and dramatically improved product consistency. Manufacturing Manager, Pittsford, NY (Commercial organization) Part of a 5-person team charged with all strategic decision-making and tactical leadership of a $25M oriented polystyrene clear container business, including category P&L plan, marketing plan, pricing approval, manufacturing plan, and capital plan.
