I am seeking a position with both challenge and room for the unique contribution my background can bring. I have a solid background in customer-related industries. A hands-on executive with proven ability to manage projects from planning through execution as well as the ability to implement solutions under tight deadlines in fast-paced, time sensitive environments. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Extensive international exposure in working with diverse cultures from Asia to Europe.

Career path has included positions such as Research Analyst, Manager in Corporate Strategy, Business Development Manager, Senior Consultant and Marketing Manager.

As corporate consultant to the largest business unit in an international weight loss and weight management company, I have analyzed and recommended changes to the media purchase strategy that led to higher gross rating points at lower costs and more effective advertising during off-peak media flights.

In addition, I have also established a market segmentation strategy following extensive analysis into a 15 plus million record member database, providing new opportunities in relation to marketing and pricing strategies. ACORN classifications were used in the segmentation approach for the market at the national, regional and DMA(designated market area) levels. Demographic and behavioral insights were then presented to senior management, with opportunities for under-penetrated segments identified and prioritized for action.

More significantly, a pricing test conducted in 2002 was analyzed, providing results that contradicted prior analysis by an outside consultant. In using different hypotheses, I showed that the test markets not only produced higher revenues but also had comparable volume growth to non-test markets. As a result, the Board of Directors was persuaded to approve the continuation of the price test, which would otherwise have been abandoned, generating at least some $15 million in revenue. To facilitate my work, I have developed processes and analytical models that analyzed volume trends and revenue components in a timely fashion, aiding decision-making.

As a management consultant, I have developed a customer-centric strategy for Chemical companies and determined customer relationship management (CRM) diagnostics that these companies have to address in assessing their readiness for a CRM-enabled solution to meet industry challenges. The strategy supported a major consulting company’s marketing approach in targeting an estimated US$5 million in project fees.

In addition, I have conducted an in-depth financial and strategic analysis of a consulting company’s business unit’s regional operations to determine profitability and growth potential of the unit. Results and recommendations to the global partnership included revenue opportunities of an estimated US$3.5 million in new markets and services.

Entrepreneurial by nature, I have set up a business unit from its conception through to implementation, establishing the world’s first airport-airline marketing initiative in encouraging air traffic and tourism growth. In fact, the marketing strategy led to a 5% increase in weekly flights from a base of over 3000 weekly flights. Initiated a marketing campaign that led Lufthansa German Airlines to select Singapore as its preferred choice of regional headquarters in Asia.

I also have an established track record in business development, securing more than 5000 new members for an online photo sharing service by developing strategic partnerships with key partners in the travel industry such as Expedia and Virgin Atlantic Airways, exceeding the target quota by more than 3000 members.
