• Lead professional team responsible for all accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger processing and activity for $200 million organization with more than 400 employees and 700 contractual agreements
• Manage preparation of consolidated monthly financial statements for distribution to management team, investors and debt holders
• Lead accounting team in reduction in the accounting close cycle from 20 to 14 business days with no headcount increase
• Implemented additional process improvements to meet the expanded informational needs of executive management, operations as well as external parties such as investors, debt holders and external auditors and tax consultants
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax consultants for the partnership
• Manage preparation of various reports for court and monthly US Trustee report required by Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filing
• Created and implemented various accounting and other company policy documents and manuals
• Established and implemented various tools and reports to track time sensitive information such as contractor certificates of insurance for general liability and workers compensation audits resulting in reduced insurance premiums

• Project managed integration of $66 million acquisition of entrepreneurial company into existing organization across all aspects of the business including:
• Coordinated attorneys, engineers and other external professionals to research and resolve various issues with agreements, reserve studies and permits associated with the acquisition
• Prepared and managed integration plan of activities, tasks and completion dates for company executive management, monitored progress against plan
• Lead seamless transition of all personnel from acquired company employee pay and benefit plans to new plans
• Established new process for information flow to partnership accounting team

Sprint: Integration Manager – PCS Affiliates

Overview: Organization responsible for the integration of four PCS affiliate company acquisitions into core Sprint organization; acquisitions included Alamosa PSC, Gulf Coast Wireless, Independent Wireless One and US Unwired
• Managed integration of four Sprint PCS affiliate companies into Sprint Real Estate organization, averaging approximately $100 million in annual expenditures for 4,000 real estate agreements (primarily tower and attachment agreements) per acquisition, integration consisted of:
• Relocation of all physical files to Overland Park, KS from acquired company headquarters
• Review of all lease agreements for payment and payment escalation terms and payment history including any disputes
• Notification of all lessees and lessors of acquisition and address changes
• Calculation and entry of all payment information into Sprint systems for the remainder of the initial lease term for calculation of straight-line rent
• Implemented process improvements to reduce time required to calculate and load future payment streams into Sprint systems
• Recruited and managed 17 support staff
Great Plains Land Services: Contractor to Sprint
2002-2005
• Monitored WorldCom Bankruptcy Court motions, prepared monthly presentations for Sprint Real Estate and Network executive management on impacts to Sprint, reviewed approximately 4,000 motions for impacts to real estate, network and transport
• Implemented and documented improvements to SEGIS metric reporting, developed management metric reports to provide more meaningful information to organization management team (SEGIS is a Sprint developed proprietary database for managing and tracking all Sprint real estate agreement activity including agreement administration, project management, space planning and payments)
• Chaired Sprint Real Estate organization SEGIS Quality Council for standard setting and processing activity for proprietary database of Sprint enterprise real estate activity
• Prepared, reviewed, tested and distributed metric, productivity, jeopardy and other reports to management and organization
• Prepared budgets for selected cost centers averaging more than $500 million in annual expenditures

Sprint: Manager, Vendor Relationships – Sprint Broadband Direct
2000 – 2001
Overview: A start-up organization in Sprint responsible for the roll-out of a facilities based high-speed consumer wireless broadband internet service bypassing the Local Exchange Carrier
• Lead effort on strategic outsourcing of installation and repair service for Sprint Broadband Direct (SBD) which resulted in a reduced cost per install from over $500 to $175 per install and a reduction in time to market launch by four weeks
• Negotiated agreements with five national vendor partners for installation and repair services for SBD product in 18 markets
• Responsible for insuring that all vendor partner customer related trouble issues were satisfactorily resolved
• Matrix managed vendor partners and vendor partner technicians in 14 launched markets and 4 planned markets with 275 installation technician activity averaging $2.2 million per month
• Identified and performed due diligence research on vendor partners for installation and repair of SBD product in all markets
• Assisted in development of Operations Manual for installation and repair for the organization
• Communicated with all levels of the vendor partner management team on staffing, pricing, operational processes and procedures, damage claims and other issues associated with vendor work performance

Overview: A start-up joint venture between Sprint, National Grid (UK) and France Telecom (France) to build-out a nation wide telecommunications network in Brazil to provide competition in the Brazilian long-distance market
• Developed and implemented financial processes and procedures for Real Estate organization
• Managed processing of all transactions associated with Real Estate organization activity including all capital and expense activity for network build-out consisting of $1.2 billion capital and $250 million annual expenses
• Developed capital and operating expense budgets, cash flow forecasts/estimates, performed financial analysis of real estate acquisitions
• Prepared Real Estate project authorizations for capital acquisitions, managed approval of authorization and tracked spending versus approved amounts
• Interfaced with various company finance organizations (e.g., procurement, treasury, accounts payable) in development of all financial processes and procedures and implemented process improvements

Overview: Organization responsible for the management of all Sprint long-distance real and network properties consisting of sales and corporate offices, network switch, repeater and other network sites and fiber optic network
• Managed professional staff in preparation of annual expense budget and forecast of $450 million
• Implemented change to annual budget process reducing budget re-spin cycle time from more than 14 days to one day
• Managed preparation of and provided analytical commentary to monthly financial operations report, presented monthly operational update to senior Real Estate and executive company management
