Community Health Systems (CHS) July 2007 - January 2010 Triad Hospitals (CHS acquired Triad Hospitals in July 2007) September 2005 ¡V July 2007 Chief Financial Officer Carolinas Hospital System, Florence, SC September 2005 ¡V January 2010 420-bed facility located on two campuses. Carolinas Hospital is licensed for 320 Acute beds, 48 Acute Inpatient Rehab beds, 28 Skilled Nursing beds, 12 Gero-psych beds and 12 Alcohol and Dependency Unit beds „X Responsible for the following departments: Finance, Business Office, Health Information Management, Case Management, Information Systems, Materials Management, and Managed Care. In addition, the CFO for CMA, employed physicians group, had an indirect reporting line to me. „X Under my leadership the Business Office reduced AR days from the low 70s to 52 at 12/31/09. Upfront collections increased by more than 55% averaging more than $250,000 per month. „X VIP registration program was implemented in 2009. This program increased preregistration percentage, reduced denials and increased our upfront collections. It also increased patient satisfaction on quarterly surveys by ten percentage points. „X Acute Medicare length of stay was reduced to 6.1 at 12/31/09 from a LOS of 7.8 at the end of 2007. The Case Management Department started reporting to me in mid 2007. „X The hospital¡¦s EBITDA margin for 2009 was down only 5 basis points or 3% while admissions were down 12% from the prior year. Actual EBITDA declined by $99,000 or .2% from 2008. Net revenues actually grew by 3% from 2008 due to enhanced Managed Care rates. „X Carolinas Hospital Systems was one of the top EBITDA performing systems for CHS during my tenure.
