As a Global IT Sourcing Category Lead in our Global Sourcing Procurement department, you will be responsible for the management of global IT spend for the , and all its Operating Companies. The IT category is the single largest spend category within the Global Sourcing and Procurement portfolio. Expectations for this role include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of global and regional sourcing strategies for all IT spend areas (Hardware, Software, Telecommunications, Contractors, and Outsourcing), and managing and developing a global team of sourcing professionals to secure optimal results.
Specific Responsibilities Lead the global strategic sourcing and supplier management processes including advising on commercial aspects, contract terms and conditions, advising on and/or managing resolution of contract disputes, supplier analysis, supplier selection, negotiation; coordinating the strategic development of suppliers (incorporating performance monitoring and contract change management), and advice to stakeholders on all matters relating to best practice sourcing. Formulate, measure and document cost savings goals and objectives to realize opportunities and achieve cost reduction targets. Establish global business objectives, and ensure IT Sourcing Team understands, promotes and delivers against these objectives. Ensuring best practices are utilized, and the sourcing steps are followed in a consistent, objective, and transparent way at all times. Develop appropriate global or regional sourcing strategies. Ensure the delivery of these strategies and plans within all operating companies. Gain alignment between sourcing and internal business partnerson requirements, demand management approach, and sourcing strategy. Engage key stakeholders early in the strategic sourcing process. Manage and influence senior management on the role of Global Sourcing and Procurement and gain a detailed understanding of business requirements ensuring that short term and medium term business objectives are set. Educate internal business partners on keys to effective Supplier Relationship Management. Establish and actively manage relationships with key suppliers to derive maximum value, including performance metrics, process improvements, and escalation procedures. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic sourcing policies and related sourcing tools. Provide technical, professional and reliable service to continuously seeking out and implementing best procurement practices. Maintain and provide a current understanding of category/industry knowledge and advances in technology to team members and internal business partners. Identify and recruit skilled professionals. Manage Team members, conduct staff appraisals and monitor Team's activities/productivity to ensure agreed objectives are met. Coach the team members and provide guidance/mentorship to help them develop skills/career aspirations.
Qualifications 10-15+ years sourcing experience in the IT commodity group, along with 5+ years experience in leading and managing teams. Must have a proven track record of practical, hands-on experience using the 7-step strategic sourcing process. Strong written verbal communication, listening, interpersonal, consensus building and facilitation skills. Exceptional problem solving skills, results-oriented, and the ability to analyze multiple and complex situations to determine most effective way of resolving issues and pushing strategy forward. Ability and comfort level interacting with senior management. Experience with managing key supplier relationships and understand and synthesize supplier market dynamics. Competent in managing delivery expectations against a fixed resource pool. Strong negotiation skills. Experience with managing multiple projects. Master's degree strongly preferred. Relevant professional qualification preferred (i.e. CPM or other professional certifications).
