Executive Job Description
To qualify for this position, you must have strong experience at a Senior Executive level. You must also have experience in an eCommerce setting for a retail environment. We prefer a large retail environment but we will consider all.

Position Description
The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions will direct and manage the relationship between IT and Lowe’s internal business customers in the areas of Store Operations, E-Commerce, and Specialty Sales. The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions will also direct and manage, the process of delivering new applications in support of the business and the ongoing maintenance of Lowe’s business application systems. The Vice President must maintain a global, business-oriented perspective while overseeing the delivery of information technology solutions that support Lowe’s business objectives. The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions collaborates with other IT functional groups, internal business users and outside consultants to assess, plan, design, develop, integrate, deploy and support application systems that enable critical business functions and strategies, while leveraging Lowe’s resources. The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions is responsible for ensuring that application systems are operating efficiently and effectively. In addition, the Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions will be responsible for the strategic planning and tactical management of the IT solutions used to support Store Operations, E-Commerce, and Specialty Sales. This position requires strong leadership, business savvy, technological expertise and an overall commitment to excellence. The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions must balance the tactical demands of daily business reliance on systems against strategic technology programs to support company growth. The position interfaces with senior and executive management throughout the corporation on a variety of business and technology-related issues. IT Retail Selling Solutions is organized to mirror the organizational structure of its internal customers. Each department is led by an IT Solutions Director who functions as an account manager to their respective business executive. Each department is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and proper function of a subset of Lowe’s retail business applications. The Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions must be able to quickly mobilize resources to resolve pressing application support issues. The position also plays a key role in the strategic planning and decision-making for Store Operations, E-Commerce and Specialty Sales business application components. In addition, the Vice President, IT Retail Selling Solutions, must develop management staff to prepare them for expanded opportunities within IT.

Position Requirements
Bachelors degree in computer science, business administration, or equivalent. 8 years or more of information systems experience including at least 5 years of managerial responsibilities. Solid understanding of hardware, systems/software and related resources especially those for the retail industry. Technical/practical knowledge in the following key areas: • Strong Ecommerce background • Business application and data warehousing systems • Database management systems • Network technology • Mainframe and associated device technology • Server (UNIX, Microsoft and Novell) technology • Telecommunications • Data Center operations • Expertise in building, monitoring, and managing capital and expense budgets. Planning and Managing – Capable of developing and executing short-term (tactical) and long term (strategic) plan. Ability to plan and manage day-to-day application systems. Accounting – Understanding of basic accounting concepts, particularly in the areas of inventory control and fixed assets. Administrative – Comfortable in developing and monitoring expense and capital budgets. Knowledge of Lowe’s budgeting process is a plus. Technical – Must have a varied technical background, with exposure to mainframe, server, network (wide area and local area), and workstation technical architectures. Analytical – Must possess the ability to logically reason through complex problems. People – Must be able to deal effectively with a wide variety of people. Team Building - Must be able foster teamwork among all IT employees Communications (written and verbal) – Proficient in writing and presenting material to both technical and business-oriented audiences. Organization – Must possess the ability to balance and address many issues at the same time. Ability to prioritize issues based on importance to the company is a must. Project management – Strong understanding of project management techniques and practices is required. Must be adept at reviewing project plans and identifying areas for improvement. Proven ability to successfully work with business users and other IT departments Negotiation – Must be comfortable in reviewing medium to complex legal agreements in the areas of computer software and hardware technology. Delegation – Must be efficient in delegating and monitoring a wide range of projects and tasks. Mentor – Be a good example for others in the organization. Teach, coach, motivate others in the organization to help them advance and contribute further to the success of Lowe’s.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced/graduate degree in Business or Management. Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement in situations involving broad-based information systems Familiarity with object oriented methodologies, tools, and techniques Large multi-store Retail systems knowledge Large Retail E-Commerce Experience
