Our client is a leading global insurance company with a strong track record of profitable growth and leading market positions in the segments it serves. It is a top ten US insurance firm, a Fortune 250 organization, and recognized as one of the Americas Most Admired firms with about $15 billion in revenues.
Their IT organization is centralized and organized by business unit and function. There has been a recent reorganization which included the establishment of a dedicated PMO function. There is an immediate need for a Vice President Claims IT Business Partner to join this top ten property casualty insurer reporting directly to the Corporate CIO. The position is located conveniently in an attractive New York City suburb.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The VP Claims IT Business Partner is responsible for partnering with the business to analyze feasibility, collect business requirements and produce functional and technical specifications for any new development or maintenance projects. The key responsibilities of this role include: Define and directs the goals and activities of the Business Analysis discipline, and directly manages a team of Technical Analysts in the area of functional and technical analysis Partner with other Claims IT and IT groups to define, establish, implement and monitor best practices for requirements analysis methodologies and tools Manage Business Partner Services budget and resources Facilitate issue resolution and clearly communicate cross-organization decisions, standards and discussions to relevant business and Claims IT parties Continually improve working relationships with the business and other senior Claims IT and IT leadership Partner with Claims IT technology teams to engage business partners and vendors in developing technology/product strategies Proactively mentor Technical Analysts and promote consistent career management, performance measurements and skill development Identify ways to share resources to promote information sharing and career/skill development Generate ideas for new/improved business and technology functions and/or initiatives Maintain expert understanding of Business Analysis and Requirements Management procedures and Claims applications across multiple technologies and relevant industry trends, and provide expert input into development of guidelines, standards, polities and procedures
KNOWLEDGE and QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal VP Claims IT Business Partner will have the following knowledge and qualifications: 10+ years business analysis, project management, software quality assurance/testing and/or development experience Strong knowledge of Claims business processes and supporting technology architecture Strong knowledge of relevant applications and development of lifecycles Strong influencing/negotiation skills Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills Bachelor degree IIBA/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) highly desired
