Executive Job Description | The Software Engineer will be joining a team of experienced engineers. The team develops an industry leading line of advanced video networking products. These products are used around the world for transporting studio quality high and standard definition video programming over satellite, telecom, IP and broadcast networks. The applicant will be expected to design and develop enhancements to compression algorithms for improving compressed video quality at specified bitrates.
Responsibilities Detailed algorithm level knowledge of video compression standards, particularly H.264 and MPEG-2. Hands-on experience in optimizing video quality in compression algorithms in real-time systems. Rate control optimization and statistics multiplexing. Programming real-time, embedded systems using C. Working closely with the entire design team throughout the development process, from initial design to hardware checkout to software integration to system verification. Analyzing and tuning system designs to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks. BEST INDUSTRY – Broadcast Communications, Media BEST DEPARTMENT – Engineering
Qualifications PHD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3+ years of experience in video compression algorithm development and/or design. Masters Degree and 4 +years experience or a Bachelors in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field 6 years of experience in video compression algorithm development and/or design. Excellent debugging and problem solving skills with embedded systems, ability to work with hardware designers to bring up new hardware, understanding and proven track record of resolving hardware/software integration issues. Previous work on video products such as videophone, IPTV, set-top box, surveillance video system, portable media player, etc Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is an advantage: DSP programming and development tools, particularly optimizing C and assembly code on Texas Instruments C6x and DM64x architectures. Real time embedded system design on Linux or other real-time operating system. Audio formats including: AC-3 and MPEG. Video formats including: NTSC, PAL, SDI, HDSDI. MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 audio compression. Candidates must be either current US Citizens or Green Card holders |
