Executive Job Description | Cancer Treatment Centers of America, (CTCA), is identifying and evaluating candidates for the position of Senior Database Administrator. This position will be located at the CTCA’s Corporate Office in Schaumburg, IL. And as the Company positions itself for major change and growth, Management recognizes the need to add additional IT Talent to help support the organization’s IT goals and objectives. The Senior Database Administrator will report to the Manager of DW/BI & Database Administration.
Position Overview Broad system level expertise across multiple computing platforms and technologies with the ability to influence data conversions and interfaces at the Enterprise Level. To maintain, design and assist in the implementation of new and existing systems, middleware, data interface engines, data conversions and data architectures.
Responsibilities • Supporting, modifying, and expanding the data schema of the existing databases in accordance with agency data storage standards and functional requirements documents • Writing stored procedures, triggers and SSIS packages • Writing queries to support business needs • Performing critical data analysis • Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions • Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements • Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency • Monitor systems and platforms for availability • Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover • Restore and recover corrupted databases • Install and test upgrades and patches • Implement security and encryption • Author and maintain standard operating procedures
Education and Experience Level • BA degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or 5 years of equivalent work experience • 3-8 years of IT experience in Technical Infrastructure, Data Management, Database Management/Conversions and Data Quality • Ability to work independently to understand business and technical requirements in order to define solution alternatives • Strong business perspective and the ability to convey technology concepts that satisfy business requirements • Knowledge and experience with SQL Server, Oracle Linux and AIX environments
