Executive Job Description | Principal Architect

We have been engaged to recruit for a Principal Data Architect for our client, a cutting-edge technology company located in Eden Prairie. This role is responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of data platform strategy. The role will provide leadership, working with business and technical teams to integrate internal/external developed applications, platforms, and enablers into our client’s Cloud and Mobile Technology environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for leading the translation of business needs into technical solutions that fit within the overall data management strategies.
- Define strategies associated with data management, data integrity, data warehouse and data mart design.
- Collaborate, negotiate and influence direction and decision making in order to enable the delivery of quality solutions.
- Serve as a key contributor to the development and decision making process for the architecture and design of data-intensive systems as they relate to both internal applications and external integrating applications.
- Consults with internal and external business partners to design technical solutions leveraging the business intelligence tools.
- Designs and implements integrated technical solutions for proprietary and purchased software including enterprise-level projects.
- Responsible for performance tuning and enhancements of database and reporting solutions.
- Capable of designing logical and physical data models.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area.
- Significant experience in defining and implementing data architecture solutions.
- Eight to ten years of increasing responsibility in the field with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, SSIS and ETL.
- Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP Cube Development)
- Knowledge of multi-tiered web application development and object oriented programming.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment.
- 3+ years experience with an enterprise level reporting tool (BusinessObjects preferred).
