Executive Job Description | The Consulting Manager responsible for Blackbaud's Enterprise Data Migration team will be a dynamic and organized individual possessing experience in management of a professional services team, passionate leadership capabilities, and a vision for continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for overseeing North American customer data migration projects performed by the data migration team. As a Consulting Manager in the Enterprise Customer Business Unit you will ensure that the data migration team has a supply of quality technical talent who are well trained and motivated to achieve success. The Consulting Manger's responsibilities are to manage and grow staff, create satisfied customers, cultivate existing and develop new business, and conduct practice-specific operations.
Specific responsibilities of this role include the following: Staff Management Recruit, retain, and develop consultants capable of delivering high quality services Utilize senior staff members to extend in-house tool set used to deliver faster, less costly, higher quality solutions to our clients Mentor new and existing team members in technology consulting best practices Work with staff to overcome client project challenges Identify training and development needs of staff Ensure team members have the resources to be successful Measure and improve employee performance Manage human resource issues of team members Work with management team to fill capability gaps and skill mix issues among consultants Promote adherence to and evolution of Blackbaud's implementation methodology
Market & Client Development Work closely with the Enterprise Sales team on various pursuits to develop scopes of work Gain a comprehensive understanding of vertical practice needs (Higher Education, Healthcare/Human Services, etc..). Develop and manage data migration technology toolset roadmap for the enterprise business unit Understand and develop strategies against the competitive landscape Recognize and respond to market trends in professional services Perform presales assignments and then serve as the point of project escalation and leadership Drive divisions efforts in new products and services initiatives Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and referenceability
Practice Operations Understand project lifecycle and delivery methodologies - help team members achieve project commitments Establish and enhance Standard Operating Procedure(s) for data conversion projects Collaborate with vertical practices to prioritize backlog and staffing assignments Perform billable assignments in a consultative or executive sponsor role With deployment project managers and conversion team staff to develop and adhere to project plans and schedules. Travel to client sites as necessary Enhance and promote knowledge management procedures Work with the PM and Training and Development Lead to identify and plan training opportunities for team members Enhance and promote standards and processes to ensure consulting engagements exceed client expectations Develop metrics on data quality and conversion activities. Monitor, track, document and improve conversion activities. Manage team utilization and realization goals Forecast and prioritize backlog Oversee team operations including time reporting, expense reporting, forecasting, backlog, and project closure policies and procedures Experience and Skills: Bachelors degree required 2-4 years experience managing or mentoring consultants 4-6 years of working directly with clients or end users 5-7 years of experience working in a professional setting, with demonstrated experience in project leadership and consulting processes 3-5 years experience with enterprise level implementation projects - experience implementing Siebel, Salesforce, SAP or other major CRM package a strong plus Understanding of customer business drivers Strong problem-solving skills Experience with project and client management Excellent soft skills (planning, expectations setting/management, written and verbal communication) Experience with recruiting, retention, and performance management Understanding of Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes Understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly SQL Server Productivity tools skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote Experience working with enterprise technology platforms such as .NET, SQL Server, Oracle, Java/J2EE, etc. a plus Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as C#, Java, VB.NET, T-SQL, etc. a plus
