Our Enterprise Technology Services Group (ETS) has a need for a person who can focus on enterprise planning efforts across ETS and Information Technology. This is a unique opportunity where a person gets to help drive enterprise planning from a current to future state. A person in this role will have a direct influence on research and planning relative to reducing service costs, creating technology road maps, and planning for implementation of newer technologies. The Planning organization establishes vision, strategy, capability roadmaps and service creation for our end-user computing environment. In addition, the organization manages the platform’s overall budget, operating, and service costs. This position is responsible for managing Solution Architects and Systems Engineers involved in the activities of designing and engineering Client related service capabilities. This person will also have the following responsibilities: - Projects software and hardware requirements in conjunction with other IT Managers. - Ensures effective coordination and technical support between programmers, developers, testers, interfacing system groups, and end users. - Oversees the analysis and evaluation of current or proposed technology-related solutions that address business problems. - Ensures adherence to quality standards. - Evaluates and implements methods to maximize group efficiency. - Prepares activity and progress reports regarding group or project status. - Provides input for process standards, and ensures proper processes are in place to guide the consistent documentation and delivery of end user needs. - Consistently demonstrates knowledge of managerial concepts, practices, and procedures through the leadership of programming, testing, or hardware resources. - Works effectively with several levels of management by independently solving problems and making decisions and knows when to involve the appropriate management levels on more complex issues. - This position has the potential for upward management mobility within ETS or other areas of Information Technology
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree in an IT discipline, which could include computer science or MIS OR at least four years of experience in a professional IT-related role. - At least 8-10+ years of related work experience in IT, including successful experience leading or managing a team of technical resources. - Experienced within complex IT environments with large client populations (20,000+) - Self-driven and able to work in ambiguous environments - Experienced with successfully creating and implementing enterprise vision, strategy, and long-term roadmaps - Understanding of the impacts of the consumerization of IT and how to embrace and manage expectations in an enterprise environment - Ability to manage vendor engagements, contracts, contract SLA and performance management, and outsourced services - Proven experience with Service costs and total cost of ownership management - Experienced with labor and capital planning, as well as, budget management - Experienced with Organizational development and building high-performing teams. Especially with Sr. Technical Engineers - Very strong at oral and written communication skills - Excellent at relationship building and can work across organizations - Able to adjust to changing priorities and initiaitives - Able to follow and understand current and emerging technology in the client space such as: VDI, Application Virtualization, software distribution, management and accounting advances, new remote access techniques, alternative end-points and companion devices - Able to hold people accountable while taking ownership of these efforts - Results focused IT experience with the proven ability to effectively manage people, processes, and technology - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with others, including senior management. - Experience coaching and/or mentoring others for improved performance and career success, which includes the ability to take proactive actions to address issues that may impact team performance. - Proven experience influencing the outcome of events to achieve desired results. - Ability to successfully manage/oversee multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. - Known as a positive role model of company direction and policies. |
