Executive Job Description | Director, Information Technology
Location: south of Houston, TX

Our client is a major energy producer in the state of Texas.
Provides the leadership and overall strategic direction for the company information technology functions which include applications, infrastructure, business process management (SAP), and records management systems. Responsible the overall information technology vision including the alignment of business and technology strategies in support of opportunities to leverage technology solutions in a manner that provides continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and a competitive edge.
• Assesses the short, immediate, and long term company-wide technology needs and create a technology roadmap for the delivery of technology solutions and develops the implementation plan based on technology needs to execute against.
• Evaluates and selects technology solutions that will supplement or upgrade the current technology environment.
• Identifies, negotiates, selects, and manages the relationships with vendors and other resources that provide this solution to optimize the technology environment.
• Oversees and directs activities related to complex, high impact projects associated with software/hardware product evaluation and development.
• Establish the deliverables and projected milestones for solution delivery in partnership with the company’s business leaders to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinates the implementation of software/hardware development and/or replacement with station key stakeholders.
• Educates the senior leadership regarding the value and usage of new technologies in a growing and technology driven industry.
• Collaborates with counterparts in the parent companies on initiatives that support all the organizations and create Centers of Excellence.
• Implements innovative and cost effective solutions to protect and maintain the company’s IT assets for mission critical areas such as cyber security, operations, maintenance, engineering, records management, supply chain, risk management and compliance.
• Establishes and maintains the strategy for the development, deployment and maintenance of the company’s technology environment that will ensure the integrity, security and privacy of the information maintained by the enterprise.
• Establishes and maintains an enterprise-wide disaster recovery plan for the timely and effective restoration of IT support and services.
Requirements:
• The position requires a bachelor’s degree preferably in Management Information Systems or Computer Science (master’s degree preferred)
• 15 years of progressively responsible experience in providing information technology business solutions (5 of the 15 years should be at the manager level or above).
• Utility experience is a plus, but not required.
