Executive Job Description | Our client is a well established, multi-site, privately held chemical company which is 100 years old and recognized for its commitment to research & development, quality standards, and its tradition of customer service. This company is headquartered in the St. Louis area, and its customers are located throughout the United States.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The selected candidate will be responsible for development, operation and support of a user oriented management information system: desktops, LANs, WANs, database/application servers and telephone systems. •Manage effective strategic planning, budgeting, personnel administration and business continuity planning. •Develop, operate, and support all company information systems. This includes hardware, network, system software, application software, and end user software. •Manage IT Department software development, includes analysis, design, development, testing, training, and documentation. Supervise the selection of application and end user software and purchasing of all computer hardware. •Coordinate and monitor usage of Company computer systems in accordance with Company policy. •Develop and administer the Company’s computer security policy, telephone system and business continuity plan. •Assist with the training of end users and users problem resolution. •Develop and maintain documentation of all IT Department procedures and processes. •Coordinate and control all support functions serving the IT environment including consultants and vendors. •Maintain inventory of all computer hardware and supplies that relates to the IT Department’s area of control. •Report regularly on information system department activity, including quantity, quality, and timeliness of IT Department services, system performance response time, availability and reliability.
QUALIFICATIONS: BS Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field is required. A minimum of ten plus years general experience and five-plus years supervisory experience is expected. Further qualifications include: •Progressive information systems experience in a manufacturing environment is ideal, with chemical manufacturing, mining, or related being a plus. •Strong business and analytical skills, with ability to assimilate concepts related to all aspects of the information systems environment including new technology. •An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. •Demonstrated ability to lead employees and get results through others. Able to think ahead and plan over a specific time span and prepare action plans to achieve results. •Demonstrated capability for developing effective working relationships at all levels with functional users, technical personnel, vendors, and consultants. •A hands-on, persistent approach to the workplace with a strong commitment to teamwork, and background in developing, mentoring, and when necessary, disciplining salaried employees. •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
