Executive Job Description

The Business Technology Officer (BTO) should function as the assigned business unit and technology liaison. The BTO should have the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and to apply customer relationship management practices, including the identification of appropriate, mutually agreed technology related objectives, levels of services and costs/services fees, which in turn are defined in service level agreements (SLAs). The BTO will work very closely with the assigned business unit’s senior management to create the technology strategy that is fully integrated with the business strategy, and conform to both the business and technology architecture blue prints. The BTO will oversee all the technology initiatives within the assigned business unit. The BTO will:
• Help to bring technology into the business units and transfer business knowledge to the development team.
• Facilitate closer relationships between technology and the business areas.
• Understand business strategic plan and requirements better.
• Help technology to build stronger relationship with the business areas.
• Build technology’s understanding of the business technology needs and be involved from the beginning in establishing agreements with technology vendors for either software or services
• Will work with the business to assess the credibility and capability of potential vendors from technology point of view to ensure successful implementation.
Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor’s degree, with more than 15 years experience as systems manager/designer focused on creating and applying technology to the clearance and custody areas of the brokerage business. Strong leadership abilities. Proven ability to create strong and effective partnerships with clients. Hands on global technology experience is required.
