Executive Job Description | Our client, a leader in the chemical industry, is currently seeking to hire a Senior Sales - New Business Development-Surface Technologies Group for their locations in East Windsor, CT, Duncan, SC and Wilmington, MA.

The candidate will be responsible for researching, prospecting, identifying and capturing new strategic sales opportunities in the industrial business market segments.
The position reports to the Commercial Sales and Marketing Manager and resides in the CT business location. Our Surface Technology Business provides Thermal Spray Coatings for a variety of industries including Power Generation, Aerospace and Chemical Processing.
This opportunity is for the Senior Sales professional with demonstrated results on researching, prospecting and acquiring new business opportunities within the (related) industrial markets.
Candidate must have experience in industrial market applications such as Oil & Gas, Automotive, Forging, Printing, Chemical Processing, Refining, and/or other industrial applications.
Primary responsibility is to continuously assess, grow and develop new business accounts and grow new profitable sales.
The accomplished, energetic and highly seasoned Sales professional will formulate and establish new client relationships and new key business opportunities aligned with business marketing and sales strategies.
Duties include, but not limited to:
* Identify new strategic market / sales opportunities. Able to research strategic market segments, generates leads, use networking activities to establish new opportunities, and ultimately generates sales.
* Assessing new customer needs, providing quotes, performing selling presentations and negotiating new business contracts for expanding future sales to new business markets as well as potentially expanding sales applications within existing markets. Generates own leads, prospecting and networking activities.
* Leading development of new business sales strategies, win plans, and go/no-go decisions and works very closely with Operations, Engineering, Legal and Contract Review teams throughout the sales process to successively acquire new business opportunities.
* Leading pricing strategy development and pricing reviews, developing bid & proposal estimates, and negotiating new sales contracts.
* Evaluating new market trends and how trends impact business / direction and strategic planning.
* Maintaining and enforcing client confidentiality and selling / pricing integrity.
* Significant travel is required.
Flexibility on location including Connecticut, South Carolina and Massachusetts.
Qualifications:
- BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering or similar discipline required.
- Minimum 7 years experience in field sales, marketing, engineering, technical service or related.
- At least 5 years experience in coating/surface treatment business required.
- Thermal Spray applications experience within Oil & Gas, Automotive, Forging, Printing, Chemical Processing and/or Refining required.
- Proven track record in new business development required.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and solid presentation skills a must.
- Strong selling and negotiating skills with excellent interpersonal and customer interfacing abilities and can positively influence others.
- Solid computer skills experience with Microsoft Applications.
