Executive Job Description | Client: The client firm is a $60 Million dollar manufacturing firm within a multi billion dollar PE group. The client firm has 2 operating locations. The headquarters location is in Utah with a second location in Michigan. This position will be located in the firm’s headquarters. The product line consists of highly specialized interior as well as exterior building products for application in sports centers, schools and public buildings; wherever there is a need for such products. The products are either constructed of natural or synthetic materials. Due to the competitive nature of the industry, the firm and its exact location must, for the time being, remain confidential.
Position: This is a key corporate position reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounts. The Sales Manager (SM) will manage the growth and development of the firm's direct corporate customer accounts, various corporate relationships, and specialty flooring product sales. Channels will include direct retail, hospitality, GSA, garage, decking, and other specialty product sales accounts within the firm's family of brands. In addition to managing key customer accounts, this person will service and develop new accounts and sales channels to add to the current sales portfolio and drive revenue growth.
The SM will also work together with the customer service/project coordinators and sales team as they work with customers and dealers to coordinate all projects and develop new opportunities. It will be this person’s responsibility to provide exceptional customer service, win new accounts, and continue strong growth in the direct sales function. In short, this position is responsible, as assigned, for building direct relationships with key and influential National entities to not only help build the firm’s direct sales volume but to also assist growth via the firm’s extensive dealer network through collaborative efforts . The essential job functions are as follows: -- Review Product specs and attributes(working with Engineering and understanding the product line) -- Warranty information and confirmation (understanding our current warranty and confirming that is what is needed) -- Review Spec sheets and create marketing materials -- Analyze and determine which Trade shows are necessary to attend -- Sales/Rental History Presentation Plan Goals Internal and external sales calls In addition, this position will be responsible for the organic sales growth of the firm while maintaining solid and amicable working relationships with the dealer network. As such, the use of tact, problem-solving, conflict resolution and the ability to articulate and work towards mutual 'best interests' are necessary personality traits.
Candidate: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the position. A demonstrated ability to work within a team environment is crucial as is the ability to be very flexible in dealing with peers and subordinates. -- BA or BS in Business Administration is highly desired. A Master's degree is preferred. -- 5 to 7 years in of sales experience for a firm selling durable goods or building products is necessary. -- Experience in financial analysis of sales including cost of goods sold., margin analysis and costing -- Knowledgeable and experienced in planning, budgeting and reporting on sales performance indices, including breakouts by product lines. -- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products particularly, Word, Excel and Outlook
Compensation: The base salary for this position is targeted at $85,000 and a measurable, performance driven, commission structure has been developed for this position that will pay out a commission in the range of 25% of base salary at 100% of plan attainment, with the potential for more based on performance. Local candidates are highly preferred although company paid relocation assistance is available for the ideal candidate. Travel is expected to be at least 20% but is expected to be less than 50%.
