Executive Job Description | Regional Director of Sales Enterprise Cloud Platforms Chicago
WHAT IS A CLOUD PATFORM? The coming shift to cloud computing and cloud platforms is a major change in our industry. As its name suggests, this kind of platform lets developers write applications that run in the cloud, or use services provided from the cloud, or both. Its also referred to as on-demand platform and platform as a service (PaaS).
To understand the potential of supporting applications in this new way, think about how application platforms are used today. When a development team creates an on-premises application, much of what that application needs already exists. An operating system provides basic support for executing the application, interacting with storage, and more, while other computers in the environment offer services such as remote storage. If the creators of every on-premises application first had to build all of these basics, wed have many fewer applications today. Similarly, if every development team that wishes to create a cloud application must first build its own cloud platform, we wont see many cloud applications. Fortunately, our client has risen to this challenge.
This fast-growth tech vendor is seeking a seasoned technology solution Regional Director of Sales with experience selling enterprise solutions such as application development platforms, storage, disaster recovery, virtualization, security. Products such as MS-Exchange, collaboration (Sharepoint), or client desktop back-up would also be appropriate. The sales territory includes the Central USA. The average deal size is about $250K. The role reports to the VP Sales. Key responsibilities include:
Ability to execute large strategic opportunities in person and over the phone Expertise in account mapping and planning Proven experience working w/ C level and VPs in IT and LOB Consistent track record of exceeding sales quotas and targets Strong history of selling to enterprise (a deep rolodex across the country an added benefit) Strong technical understanding of the infrastructure and application stack (ideal) 10+ years of high tech sales experience with recurring revenue models, like SaaS, PaaS or IaaS or managed services The right candidate must have experience selling to senior technical audiences and the ability to correlate technical value back to business value. The individual will be expected to create consistent new opportunities via multiple outbound methods driven by their activities. They must be willing to roll up your sleeves and drive results on a daily basis. Location: Chicago, IL, USA Compensation: Base $120-125K, target income $250K
