THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client currently is seeking a dynamic global manager to serve as Global Product Line Manager, Cementation Products and Systems. The Product Line Manager will be responsible for managing the Companys Cementation Products and Systems Global Business Unit. The product line includes cementing products, centralizers, plugs, float and stage equipment, friction reducing systems, surge reduction systems, and cementing heads. Responsibilities in this role include financial and fiscal management, product line strategy and implementation, product development direction, marketing plans, QHSSE, technical and commercial support, as well as leading management of change. The position requires a close working relationship with research and development, manufacturing, regions, marketing services, finance and accounting as well as other supporting staff as required.
As the leader of the Cementation Products and Systems product line, the Global Product Line Manager will report in to the Vice President - Well Construction Products and be a part of the overall management team for this group. The organization has over 50,000 employees and operates in over 100 countries, worldwide with annual turnover of $10 billion and compounded growth rates of >20%.
The ideal individual for this role will have over 15 years oilfield services experience with at least 5 years cementing experience. The candidate should be a knowledgeable manager with strong business skills to manage a group and have experience in contracting, negotiating and budgeting as well as formulating policies and implementing new strategies to expand the market for the product lines. He or she should have a polished business presence and be able to deliver professional business presentations and establish a business case. Knowledge of finance and accounting and managing a P&L will be required.
Culturally, this position will require someone who blends and adjusts well to the characteristics and personalities of his/her audience, with the ability to introduce and lead change and positive growth in a fast paced and rapidly expanding organization with diverse, international needs and a complex structure.
In the beginning, the position will likely require some significant travel to evaluate locations and data gathering to evaluate and organize the overall strategy. A key factor of success will be someone who is truly willing to listen and learn to effectively synchronize and calibrate a strategy that meets the unique needs and requirements of this particular organization.
Experience working in a highly matrixed, multi product line organization is also desired along with experience working in a somewhat entrepreneurial environment at some point in his/her career.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Develop a strategic plan for Cementation Products and Systems in order to advance the company's mission and objectives and ensure revenue, profitability, and growth targets are met and exceeded. Develop Business Plans for new product development opportunities. Evaluate and plan future market conditions and align your strategy and product development in order to fulfill clients needs. Develop and direct the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs, and systems to achieve these objectives. Review activity reports and financial statements to ensure accuracy and determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Plan and implement effective marketing campaigns and new product launches. Plan and implement product and system training courses. Work with manufacturing and operations in order to manage inventory and asset utilization. Lead commercial evaluations and pricing recommendations to the organization with regards to these products and services. Analyze financial statements, cash flow, cost controls, expenses, and pinpoint potential weak areas and correct them. Ensure compliance with and commitment to, company processes like, but not limited to, Employee Excellence Program, QHSSE, submission and approval of AFEs. Oversee company operations to insure service safety, quality, and efficiency, and cost-effective management of resources as per objectives. Communicate with subordinates and managers on operations, schedule and conduct regular company meetings. Establish employee goals and objectives and conduct employee performance reviews. Conduct interviews, hire new staff, provide employee orientation and coaching. Responsible for staff scheduling: work assignments/rotations, employee training, vacations, breaks, overtime assignment, shift rotations. Manage the Product Portfolio including Life Cycle Management Manage the health of the product line including global personnel evaluation and guidance. Establish, manage and communicate the strategic vision. Establish, manage and communicate the technology development strategy. Evaluate new technology needs based on regional and competitive market insights. Establish and communicate supply chain and inventory requirements. Assist regions in the development and evaluation of business models. Assist international operations with Business Development. Assist with commercial support for tender opportunities. Final approval for problem job reports (RCA) prior to submission to customer. Monitor Market/Product Mix tendencies/emerging markets Monitor and communicate Competitor Reactions to new products Identify Marketing opportunities/requirements Develop a strategic plan for Products and Systems in order to advance the company's mission and objectives and ensure revenue, profitability, and growth targets are met and exceeded. Responsible for Product Development Gate approvals as required Identify and help justify acquisition opportunities that enhance the product line or the companys capabilities. Help with Supply Chain Planning/Demand Planning initiatives. Responsible for branding and product positioning
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related discipline. Additional degree in Business Administration or MBA preferred. 15+ years experience in oil field services required Minimum 5 (Five) years experience specifically in the Cementation Product and Systems segment of the oilfield services industry. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Skill in examining and re-engineering R&D operations and procedures. Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community.
