POSITION DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Director of Sales is responsible for leading and directing all public library, as well as K-12, field account managers for in North America to ensure the achievement of established print and electronic sales goals and objectives. He/she will develop and manage detailed statistics on sales associate activity and performance and work to build the company brand in the marketplace.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Director of Sales will have 7-10+ years of sales experience with 5-7 years in a sales management/leadership capacity; experience working with and selling into major public library systems will be critical to success. He/she must possess excellent leadership skills, strong business acumen, an understanding of the sales P&L and proven success managing sales organizations.
The Director of Sales will have knowledge of library automation systems, MARC/LC/Dewey classifications and an understanding of library market segments. He/she must have the capability to successfully manage a large national sales force and have experience implementing effectual sales processes and methodologies across the organization. Travel requirement will be 50-60%+.
