Executive Job Description | DIRECTOR - SALES
Our client creates and markets innovative solutions in Plant Nutrition, Animal Nutrition, and Sanitation Products for the food-processing industry. With over 50 years of positive results, an established presence in 38 countries and $3 billion in annual sales revenues, our client is embarking upon a global expansion program to bring innovative solutions to the US Plant & Animal Nutrition and Industrial Hygiene markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Creating and executing sales plans that include targets, forecasts, and new business in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and surrounding USA markets • Direct selling during the early stages of growth in the US • Defining the business strategy for both Plant & Animal Nutrition and Industrial Hygiene businesses, in close liaison with Products Directors • Delivering critical market feedback and recommendations • Recruiting, training and developing sales teams (TSRs and Regional Managers) as the business expands • Implementing, developing and organising activity for the new sales force • Defining growth strategies with distributors in order to form genuine partnerships to ensure our success on the ground • Developing precise sales planning and demand forecasting to enable optimal running of the industrial site • Implementing the pricing and margin policies in accordance with the platform goals • Monitoring key performance indicators and striving for excellence • Working cross-functionally with internal departments and peers including Recruitment, Finance, Industry and Logistics, other Product Directors and Sales Directors • Taking part in Management Team meetings with possible involvement in overall strategic decisions
LOCATION:
Portland, OR - Preferred Oregon, Washington or Idaho - Acceptable Other - Will consider individuals with contacts and deep knowledge of the agri/agro/farming industry in Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successful track record of revenue delivery in the agriculture or agronomy industries; experience in the farming world is essential. • Commercial development strengths and ability to manage direct commercial relations with major distributors • Strong sales skills to achieve individual sales quotas as an individual contributor during the start up phase of this business • Possess current business contacts in the Oregon, Washington and Idaho markets • Demonstrated experience developing sales plans, forecasting, and delivering above average results • Demonstrated experience as a leader; strong ability to mobilize sales teams (in-field and managers) • Experience in the sales of high-added value products • Good strategic vision, bringing new ideas in terms of commercial strategy • Capacity to analyse a market and understand its key aspects • Dynamic, with an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire for success • Ability to understand all the company's key issues (business, industry, finance, etc.) • Meticulous and well-organised, ability to organise business
EDUCATION: • BS or MS degree preferred • Ideally specializing in agronomy or agriculture.
