MUST have experience selling services to pharmaceutical companies. Experience selling CNS services a plus.
Job Summary As Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for selling specialized services to decision makers in major US-based pharmaceutical companies. You will identify these decision makers and develop rapport with the objective of establishing long-term, mutually beneficial business partnerships.
Responsibilities Establish key contacts within the CNS therapeutic groups of major US-based pharmaceutical companies. Sell services to assigned potential and existing accounts. Act as the primary point of contact for client studies and provide comprehensive presentations of services to all clients in pursuit of new business opportunities. Development and implementation of individual, territory and account strategies that incorporate significant account and industry profiling with pipeline, business development and retention strategies. Continuous market analysis on all key competitors including service offerings, acquisitions and pricing. Develop proposals, including pricing and service requirements. Interact and coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary information for proposal preparation. Maintain knowledge of CNS. Experience / Skills 5-10 years of Account Management experience including experience in and knowledge of clinical drug development. Track record of success in metrics and quality of account relationships. Demonstration of the following competencies: results oriented, customer focus, excellent listening, communication and negotiating skills, presentation skills, organization agility, business acumen, interpersonal savvy, ethics and values Education / Qualifications: BS/BA degree. Advanced scientific degree preferred. 5-10 years of successful outside sales experience selling new technologies or paradigms to the pharmaceutical industry. Ability to utilize sales and business development experience to network and keep current with international organizations. Significant knowledge of clinical trial process, drug development and commercialization. Ability to do business with customers by building and maintaining partnerships rather than operating as a vendor. Experience interacting with senior executives of pharmaceutical development organizations. Must have or be eligible for a valid passport and drivers license Fundamental understanding of basic financial concepts
