Home based but must have territory experience with small and medium sized Pharma and BioTech companies in the Midwest. The Business Development Manager will have a proven track record selling technology and information solutions to Pharmaceutical companies. Incumbent will effectively manage and develop strong customer relationships, and grow revenue from within a designated region by prospecting for and gaining new customers. This will involve promoting and selling a wide ranging product portfolio focused on Business Development & Licensing, fully supported by a marketing and product development program, with the overall goal of achieving demanding but realistic targets. The post holder must be prepared to spend at least 50% of their time visiting clients.
• To achieve/exceed territory revenue plan. • To maintain existing subscriber base through renewals. • To target new potential customers for existing products/services and convert into new business. • To prepare a strategy plan for the territory which includes an analysis of revenues/products, strategy for growth, objectives and implementation schedule. • To co-ordinate activities with Territory Executive for new lead generation. • To maximize opportunities for sales revenue growth, derived from analysis of information requirements, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, conferences, seminars, customer enquiries and online usage data. • Work with Relationship Manager to prepare an account plan for each organization which includes an organization profile, an analysis of revenues, relationship profiles for contacts, SWOT analysis, use of services, strategy for growth, objectives and implementation schedule of Total Account Management • To support Relationship Manager in promoting new services to the existing subscriber base when appropriate. • To organize customer visits efficiently • To maintain and update sales progress reports and other administrative reporting mechanisms according to agreed timeframes. • To liaise effectively with internal departments (including Product Development, Marketing and Sales Support) to maximize sales opportunities and to keep up to date with existing and new Thomson Reuters services and marketing/sales campaigns. • To deputize for team members/ your line manager as and when required. • To take responsibility for identifying training and developmental needs for yourself on an on-going basis. • To make positive efforts to promote personal safety and that of others by taking reasonable care at work, by carrying out the requirements of the law or following recognized codes of practice provided or advised by management to ensure safe working practices. • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager/director on a permanent or temporary basis. |
