POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is an established and recognized construction services corporation that has been in business for over 20 years, has seen continued growth of 10%+ over the last several years and has expanded into 4 business groups with aggressive growth plans for the next 5 years. With over 55 employees and offices in 5 states (2 more planned very soon), they have an established client base throughout the U.S. and are expanding into international markets.

Due to the continued growth, they are looking for an established Operations Executive to come aboard and take ownership of the day-to-day operations while working hand-in-hand with the President in establishing long-term strategic goals. Optimally, this person will be mentored to move into the Presidents role in the next 3-6 years and be promoted into a COO role in the next 1-2 years. Must have an impeccable record of Integrity & Trustworthiness and a passion for customer service and quality. Will travel 40 – 70% depending on project needs and be willing to work closely with Clients, Contractors, Employees and Executive Management (President & Board of Directors). This is a very hands-on role requiring someone that takes ownership of the role responsibilities has strong business acumen.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Architecture or Engineering. Must be AIA or PE Certified. Must have 10 years prior Industry Project Management experience with a minimum of 8-years industry experience in supervising project managers. Must have experience in Restoration, Roofing and Non-Destructive Testing. StructureScanTM – must be knowledgeable in infrared survey techniques, such as identifying wet insulation. Non-Destructive Testing – must be familiar with Tramex leak seeker and other similar equipment. Destructive Testing – must have skills needed to successfully accomplish testing, such as moisture probes and test cuts. Good communication skills to effectively work with Clients from beginning design to post construction. Knowledgeable in construction, such as industry standards, materials, codes, contracts, bidding processes, etc. Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business. Knowledge of key construction industry Quality Control and Assurance standards. Knowledge and experience in field inspection. Skills to write technical reports and letters. Desire to pursue continuing education and certification programs (CSI, RCI, RIEI, ACI, NSPE).

PRIMARY FOCUS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide leadership for all phases of the company’s operations, with initial emphasis on day-to-day operations of the corporate office, field projects, billing/financial responsibilities and customer service. Longer term 12-18 month emphasis on long-range goals, growth, profit, and return on investment. Monitors the progress of all project tasks assigned to the departments. Monitor the man-hours spent by the departments to ensure that a high percentage of hours are chargeable to projects. See that the needs of the clients are met by maintaining frequent contacts with clients; debriefs and critiques project performance. Helps maintain established schedules and budget margins. Monitor performance of and assist Division Managers and Project Managers to ensure project results are consistent with the firm’s policies, procedures, and standards. Interface with the Division Managers to develop harmonious staff and design services.

Hires, fires, and trains subordinate to maintain adequate and competent personnel Evaluates overall performance of subordinate managers and recommends appropriate rewards (salary adjustment, bonus, promotion, layoffs, transfers, training, disciplinary actions, etc.). Implement a program mentorship within areas of responsibility to insure personnel development and growth. Must have a thorough understanding of the following techniques and procedures: Evaluation Phase; Client interview; Infrared survey StructureScanTM; Tramex, material testing; Evaluation formats; Test cuts – moisture probe; Roof plan schematics; Photo (camera) conditions; CCR (Construction, Condition, and Recommendations) evaluations report evaluation rating system (RCI); Establish initial project budgets; Design/Development; System designs/material selection • Client interaction; Detail design; Establish budgets; Construction Documents; Coordinate information for specification for technicians field work; Oversee development of specification documents; Oversee development of project manual.
