Position Description:
The Site Safety and Health Manager shall be provided at the work site at all times to perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, and safety enforcement for the Contractor.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Conduct safety and health inspections on each work shift and maintain a written log which includes area/operation inspected, date of inspection, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections. Safety inspection logs shall be attached to the Contractors' daily quality control report. • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports. • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 for prime and sub-contractors. • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site.
Experience / Other:
The SSHO shall meet the following requirements: • Must have a minimum of 10 years safety work of a progressive nature with at least 5 years of experience on similar projects (Civil construction) • OSHA 500 construction safety class or equivalent within the last 5 years. • An average of at least 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the past 5 years with training for competent person status for at least the following 5 areas of competency: o Excavation; Scaffolding; Fall protection; Confined space; Personal protective equipment and clothing to include selection, use and maintenance.

• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. • Must be a strong leader with exceptional communication skills and a role model for lean business and standard operating practices. • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
