Position Scope and Responsibilities
This is a key leadership role for the company, and responsible for an operational area at ACS which will include oversight of the operating district/regions including all installation, repair, Central Office/PBX, construction and outside plant activity, fleet operations as well as facilities management.
The position reports to the Vice President of Field Operations and works closely with the Frontline Supervisors and all levels of the management team. The position will also interact significantly with the Data Technicians as well as the Enterprise PBX Technicians.
This position is one of the key leaders on the Field Operations team, coaching and motivating them to position all the Field Operations strategies as agents of change in support of the overall business strategy. The position is an advisor to functional managers within the wireless and enterprise networks and also a skilled negotiator and communicator that will increasingly connect the union workforce (~75% of the employees) to the company’s competitive goals. This position requires the hallmark of a strong customer focus as well as a polished, disciplined and self directed professional where they will hold the customer’s interest paramount with the focus on customer relationship management, customer communication and customer centricity as the keys to success.
•Lead the Operations staff in a manner that assures measurable impact and output. Assure the Operations staff conducts continuous process improvement. Lead by example.
•Define and execute strategies to increase company-wide and individual productivity.
•Assure complete linkage between compensation and performance, modernizing good programs in place today as necessary. Amplify the communications and value of ACS’ compensation to employees.
•Develop and implement simple and compelling succession plans and more importantly, actions.
•Facilitate the continued definition and communication of the organization’s culture, vision, mission and values. Be adept at things that advance the culture: centering on customers, modernizing skills, appreciating the nature of strategic choice, instilling a love of change, embedding a non-silo mentality, and thriving to compete with others in the industry •Continue to lead strategies that advance the competitiveness of the union workforce.
Prior Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Telecommunications, or other related field. Any combination of relevant education, experience and training may be substituted for the degree requirement. •10+ Years of Management Experience in comparable industries, 5 of which would have been in Senior Management role. •Hands on experience with Sales and Operations •Recognized as driving significant accomplishment with Business and Process Leadership
