Executive Job Description | Company: High profile, full service law firm with over 500 employees which strictly represents mortgage lenders and servicers throughout Florida. The services provided range from foreclosure, bankruptcy representation and evictions to REO closings and title insurance.
Position Title: COO
Location: South Florida
Position over view: The Chief Operations Officer will manage several departments over a substantial workforce. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining production within specified guidelines for labor cost, production efficiency. Will lead the company through its next phase of growth with primary responsibilities of reorganizing the operations for growth and daily operations.
Description o Duties:
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:
Fully support the continued implementation of lean practices within the company while guiding and training the production management team to lead their workforce in an efficient, Safe, and Quality fashion. Lean manufacturing initiatives including reorganizing the processes and workflow infrastructure of the corporation and various standardized processes.
Management by Metrics:
Provide top-down leadership and continue the rigorous approach to management by metrics throughout the company. This will include mentoring the company's key functional leaders on adopting this more rigorous approach to achieve continuous improvement throughout the company.
Organizational Development:
Develop the organization to its full potential and keep personnel motivated and productive. The Chief Operations Officer must also assess the organization and conduct succession planning.
Business Unit Management:
Evaluate and improve policies and procedures as needed to continue the structured accountability amongst the management staff. Conduct weekly meetings to ensure they are successfully monitoring their group's performance using established metrics. Maintain the present high level of employee health and safety.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have the following education, work history, knowledge and skills.
Education: Master's degree is preferred (Operations, Finance, or Business Management preferred).
Experience: Must currently have a title of Chief Operations Officer, General Manager, Managing Director, or the equivalent and have at least 10 years of increasingly responsible senior-level production management.
Mortgage Servicing or Origination industry is a must.
Responsibility for 500+ employees across multiple products (FHA, HUD, Fannie and Freddie) in a ($40-100M) sized company.
Proven track record of driving lean manufacturing in an organization is required; certification in lean and six sigma is a plus. Experience within the Mortgage/foreclosure industry is required.
The Ideal candidate must be very comfortable in an environment with high production and with extensive utilization of ERP / MRP type databases.
Knowledge and Skills: Operations, P&L, cash flow, and process management is a plus. Strong Communication skills with the ability to create a cohesive, productive team is required. Knowledge of standards-based cost accounting is a plus. Relocation to Fort Lauderdale, FL is required of the successful candidate.
Compensation:
