This Company designs, produces and distributes lighting fixtures, lighting controls and related products and services for commercial and institutional, industrial, infrastructure and residential applications.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Senior Manager, Marketing will report to the Vice President and General Manager of the operating division.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide leadership for an entire value stream, responsible for achieving product vitality and profitable growth objectives. Responsible for P&L results and an annual budget. Responsible for driving new product development, managing the profitable growth of existing products (i.e. managing the product life cycle), addressing product changes and assuring that product support/marketing materials (of all types) facilitate an efficient and profitable selling process. Direct reports and areas of direct responsibility include Product Development, Product Support and Marketing Support. Dotted line relationships with Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales with responsibility for delivering products to the marketplace. Must set the vision for the group – collaborating across functions to establish and execute strategies that result in profitable growth for the value stream.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide leadership – across functions. Set a vision for future achievements (profitable growth), break the vision down to functional goals, and drive the organization to the achievement of each goal. Work with senior management to set a vision for future achievements (profitable growth and product vitality). • Manage the P&L. • Create a culture of continuous improvement – drive the organization to use ABS tools. Use KPI’s to measure and improve the performance of the business. • Engage with the finance department to review the high level financial performance of the organization, understand trends and performance and institute processes and countermeasures to achieve period over period improved operating results.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
• Nine (9) to twelve (12) years experience. • Extensive marketing expertise and experience, preferably previous product management/brand management experience. • Technical credentials (i.e. LC) would be a benefit, but would not be a requirement. • The ability to establish a vision for success and leverage a cross functional team to implement and achieve the desired (required) results. • Strong communication skills – written & spoken. Must be able to use relevant computer programs to perform daily functions. • Must be capable of collecting and distilling data (i.e. sales, financial) then taking suitable action to lead the business.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or Engineering MBA Preferred
