Summary Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing, the Product Manager, will plan, manage and execute a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan for the business at the company’s Women’s Health franchise. He/She will be tasked to identify market opportunities or threats and make recommendations to adjust the developed strategic or tactical plan accordingly; support the sales force to accelerate brand growth; and efficiently manage the brand’s marketing resources to ensure maximum impact. This individual will work closely with his/her colleagues across various functions including Market Research, Consumer Marketing, Manufacturing, Medical, Legal and Regulatory to ensure growth of the business.
Duties and Responsibilities • Gain an in depth understanding of the market, and usage/interpretation of secondary data and information sources to provide input on strategy and direction of the brand • Identify obstacles to brand growth and work collaboratively to resolve them • Plan, develop and execute key brand tactics aligned with strategy • Closely monitor trends in the market that will affect product sales • Identify market opportunities or threats and make recommendations to adjust strategic or tactical plan accordingly • Manage specific project budgets and timelines to achieve predetermined objectives • Work with agency partners to develop high quality and value added promotional material • Manage the promotional approval process of sales and other marketing material • Work closely with manufacturing to ensure appropriate sample and trade inventories • Manage distribution of product samples and sales material • Collaborate with managed care partners to ensure key opportunities are being leveraged and driven • Lead/participate in sales, marketing, market research meetings • Analyze market data and competitive activity • Attend external customer meetings: advisory, medical, etc. • Development of content for all major convention /conference activities • Create and deliver presentations to sales representatives and managers in various meetings • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and organizations • Ad hoc projects as required
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is a plus. • Minimum of 5+ years product management or marketing communications experience with branded products • Women’s Health experience required, hormone therapy and/or contraceptives experience preferred. • Excellent interpersonal skills and thrives to work in a high energy environment • Superior oral, written and presentation skills- with comfort in communicating to all levels of management • Proficiency in communicating and delivering recommendations with appropriate rationale for recommendations • Ability to collaborate with internal and external groups • Managing and working within budgets • Ability to collaborate across multiple priorities and internal and external functional groups • Balance multiple priorities simultaneously while still meeting deadlines • Develop and report on appropriate metrics to measure success of key efforts and make recommendations on changes to plans based upon data • Has experience in successfully developing plans that have provided positive business results • Anticipates problems and road blocks and develops plans to act accordingly • Results orientated, high initiative with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
