Thermadyne Holdings Corporation, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design, manufacture, marketing, sale, and distribution of welding and cutting torches, consumables, power sources, and accessories worldwide. It offers gas equipment; arc accessories, including torches, guns, and related consumable parts and accessories; plasma power supplies, torches, and consumable parts; welding equipment; and filler materials. The company’s gas equipment include oxy-fuel torches, air fuel torches, consumables, regulators, flow meters, and safety accessories that are used for cutting, heating, and welding applications. It also offers gas flow and pressure regulation equipment used for various non cutting or welding applications. Its arc accessories include automatic and semiautomatic welding guns and related consumable parts, ground clamps, electrode holders, cable connectors, and assemblies. The company also offers carbon arc gouging and exothermic cutting products. Its plasma power supplies, torches, and consumable parts are used in the construction, fabrication, and repair of steel and non ferrous metal products, including automobiles and related assemblies, appliances, ships, railcars, and heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning products. The company’s welding equipment includes inverter and transformer-based power sources used for welding processes, as well as plasma welding power sources; and filler metals include stick electrodes, solid wire, and flux cored wire. Its product applications include shipbuilding, manufacturing of transportation and agricultural equipment, offshore oil and gas rig construction, fabrication of metal structures, and the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facilities. The company sells its products through sales force, independent distributors, and wholesalers. Thermadyne Holdings Corporation was founded in 1987 and is based in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Responsibilities: • From a comprehensive understanding of the market create an executable strategy to grow the product line • Create and lead the team to achieve this strategy • Clean-up the product range. Create a 3 year product roadmap. Manage product life cycles • Own the long-term profitability and return on investment of the product line • Serve as a liaison between other product constituents (e.g., Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Sales Support, Operations) to ensure that product focus is maintained and that information flows smoothly • Assist Sales with new product introduction training and field support • Provide launch packages to regional marketing managers • Evaluate product design and identify items of concern pertaining to product liability and quality • Continually evaluate competitors’ equipment position and capabilities
Qualifications:
• Ten years of progressively responsible business management experience including product line management experience • Industrial products company experience, “tools industry” strongly preferred • Experience in a manufacturing environment, P+L experience preferred • Strong focus on exceeding customer expectations • Proven ability to work cross functionally in a fast paced environment • Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability to understand a market, create a strategic vision and then drive the business to achieve objectives • Ability to prioritize effectively and achieve results • Ability to create and manage a high performance team • Proven commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to be decisive • Strong analytical and marketing skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and / or business, Master’s degree preferred.
