Executive Job Description | A leading global medical technology and diagnostics company that makes and sells medical devices, instrumented systems and reagents seeks a Marketing Manager for its Maryland location. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for a strategic group of cell culture media and supplement products used in bioprocessing applications. He/she will develop and implement marketing plans and strategies for assigned markets and product lines to produce maximum sales, growth and profitability.
KEY DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for product line P&L, and should be highly adept at financial analysis and business case preparation. - Responsible for overall product positioning in the market, including messaging, promotional programs, pricing and channel strategy. - Establishes, implements, and maintains "best practices" in marketing and product management. - Develops and ensures that budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met. - Assists in strategic planning efforts, as well as, cultivate effective working relationships with R&D, Business Development, Sales, Operations and Finance. - Conducts appropriate market analysis and competitive product research to provide information on market segmentation, market share, customer perceptions and future worldwide market trends. - This position requires 30% travel (domestic and international).
WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: - BA or BS degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or related field. Advanced Scientific Degree and/or an MBA desired - Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, comprehensive market assessments, sales strategies, competitive product analysis, product specifications, product launches, and promotional materials. - Results oriented, capable of managing and driving the completion of multiple competing projects - Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of product marketing plans to ensure the achievement of financial expectations and product line strategies - Requires effective analytical, problem solving, organization and prioritization skills, with a special attention to detail while maintaining overall perspectives - Must possess excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. Must have advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. - Requires the ability to develop comprehensive business cases with detailed financial analysis - Must have effective meeting management skills. - Experience presenting to senior level management is needed. - Prior experience with stage-gate product development preferred. - Requires a minimum of 7 years related product marketing experience in bioprocessing or related industry and 2 years experience in a management role. - Requires technical understanding of bioprocessing applications, including mammalian cell culture, microbial fermentation and stem cell culture. |
