Executive Job Description | Marketing Director
Location: South Florida - Ft. Lauderdale
The Marketing Director will lead the marketing group and products through creative, impactful and high quality execution of all elements of the marketing mix (strategy, product, packaging, promotion, advertising, research). This hands-on, entrepreneurial marketing leader will manage the marketing team to ensure that the brand meets identified consumer needs. Will work effectively with cross functional partners and other internal and external resources. The Marketing Director will lead the strategic road mapping of new products and communication strategies that will drive growth of products.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans.
· Manage marketing budgets against company financial objectives.
· Manage outside Marketing, Advertising, PR and ID firms, including agreement negotiations and budget/cost controls.
· Develop creative, brand and product communication plans (internal and external) to drive profitable growth
· Oversee execution of all marketing plans including advertising, PR, web, packaging, promotions and research to support strategies and objectives
· Assure brand’s message, tone and personality are creatively and consistently incorporated and convey key product attributes in an impactful way in all marketing communications
· Lead product roadmap development and new product launch process
· Prepare professional, compelling, accurate and timely presentation decks for Sales teams and other internal customers.
· Analyze product and brand performance utilizing internal and external data sources
· Conduct competitive analysis and post-mortem analysis to evaluate effectiveness of marketing programs
· Develop, implement and analyze qualitative and quantitative market research
Experience and Skill Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree, MBA strongly preferred
· Minimum of 5 - 10 years Marketing, Marketing Communications, Brand and Product experience with consumer electronics or consumer packaged goods company
· Strong leadership, business, creative and analytic skills.
· Consumer Marketing and Marketing Communications experience within Consumer Electronics
· Experience working on new consumer product development
· Demonstrated knowledge of consumer research techniques and experience working with syndicated data sources to make informed decisions
· Ability to lead and develop marketing and brand strategies in a fast moving environment while assuring all programs are consistent with objectives
· Ability to lead, motivate and drive a small, entrepreneurial team in a “start up” environment
· Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to unexpected circumstances and challenges.
· Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
· Must be able to work well with and direct marketing team in order to manage the business and grow brand while successfully addressing internal and external needs
· Strong written, verbal and presentation skills adaptive to a broad range of audiences
· Strong, proven proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
