Executive Job Description | Position is based in Central, NJ Leading Biopharma Co.
PURPOSE: Manage all forecasting processes for Biopharm portfolio (Hemophilia, Growth Hormone, Hormone Therapy), in coordination with Marketing and Finance. Manage US forecasting analysis, market/business planning, and brand analysis for all phases of marketing, including launches and life cycle management, to improve transparency and accuracy.
Propose and defend forecast recommendations and challenge forecast inputs through refined analytical problem solving, quantitative models, qualitative analysis, and effective communications.
Provide key stakeholders with insights of business drivers and influences, for ongoing team reporting, analysis, and discussion of business information. Serve as an internal consultant for Biopharm Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Investor Relations on forecasting issues on a day-to-day basis.
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Director, Forecasting. Internal relationships include Brand VPs/Directors, Marketing Center-of- Excellence Directors, Managed Market/Channel Leads, Financial Analysis Director, Trade Team and Supply Chain Team. External relationships include management of vendors for national level audit data and occasionally market research projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS: Conduct analysis and generate insights on market trends, Company performance and competitors’ performance on a product and channel basis.
DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS: Manages relationship with key vendors (e.g., IMS, market research agencies) to ensure on-time data delivery, accuracy and relevant information is provided.
DATA MANAGEMENT AND ANALYSIS: Responsible for all national level data oversight.
FORECASTING: Add value in the determination of all high-level strategic inputs into the Market Model, providing market situation and brand insights (i.e., what are the competitors launching and potential impact, what our Company is launching and potential impact, various demographic trends, primary and secondary data).
FORECASTING: Develop and maintain other various market models ($, patients, Rx, etc.) to support forecasting analysis and challenge Brand Team forecasts. Makes key recommendations for management approval based on analysis and careful research of forecasting options. Sales Forecasting (GSF) system to ensure monthly forecasting accuracy. Acts as the GSF super user for North America.
FORECASTING: Manage the Forecasting intranet site and its content. Make recommendations for enhancements and consult with stakeholders in determining any changes.
FORECASTING: Partner with the brand leads on the input of all Biopharm portfolio products and develop the volume Market Model which includes scenarios related to market dynamics (e.g. share, growth of Company and competitor products) for both in-line and launch products with minimal guidance. Manage all inputs and develop various scenarios with brand teams in order to optimize return on investment and reconciling it with factory production forecast.
FORECASTING: Play a key role in the development, maintenance, and continuous upgrades of forecasting models/processes to improve forecasting methodology and enable a realistic view of Company performance and market trends.
FORECASTING: Responsible for achieving forecast accuracy targets along with brand teams.
FORECASTING: Serve as an internal consultant for Biopharm Marketing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, and Investor Relations on forecasting issues on a day-to-day basis.
FORECASTING: Stay current with forecasting methodologies, processes, and resources. Pro-actively look for process improvement opportunities by challenging existing methods, proposing impactful solutions and driving change.
FORECASTING: Work through local cross-functional teams to drive timely creation and delivery of US forecasts for production planning.
FORECASTING: Work with team in the development of ad hoc business analysis in support of brand/company initiatives. Generate insights from various data sources and apply it into forecasts (with management review and approval) to provide strategic business analysis to relevant stakeholders.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Approximately 5% overnight travel
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - Bachelor’s Degree preferably in an analytical field such as economics, finance, or engineering; Master’s degree in an analytical field, MPH, or MBA preferred. - Minimum of at least 6 years relevant marketing, market research, forecasting, sales analysis, finance and/or reporting or other related business/analytics experience required. - Ability to communicate/present in a way that’s easily understood by the audience. - Ability to effectively plan, prioritizes, execute, and follow up in a timely manner and anticipate problems and roadblocks. - Ability to work across functions, partnering with the brand teams and other groups within the company. - Experience in Hemophilia market and/or Growth Hormone Therapy market preferred. - Experience with forecasting techniques or software including ForecastPro, required. - Experience working with IMS data required and other research sources. - Expert Excel, PowerPoint, etc. skills required. Experience in SAS or Access preferred. - Recent finance or marketing/sales reporting and analysis experience in a pharmaceutical company preferred. - Strong and creative analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative, and strong problem-solving skills required. - Strong interest in continuous and professional development. - Strong team oriented culture. - Works independently – Gathers input about needs from stakeholders and sets own direction accordingly.
