Executive Job Description | A start-up division of a major, innovative, global technology and services company is seeking a Manager with strong strategic marketing experience and a background in technology to develop the marketing plan and launch new energy storage technology into a range of industries and commercial segments. This disruptive new technology is already utilized in Europe, is superior to other products, and has the potential to be used in a wide range of applications by a number of significant and growing industries. The Technology Product Manager will set a vision for the business and develop an agenda that excites people about the potential of this business in order to realize the vision. He/she will create the strategic marketing plan that targets market segments, develops positioning, and accounts for competitive and other market forces; work with engineering and global research teams to develop multi-generation product plans that fulfill the needs of chosen target market segments; develop the sales materials and promotion plans; and work with sales leaders to drive the sales strategy and process. He/she will work with teams across the company on proposal development, cost competitiveness, and supply chain effectiveness and will develop the business cases to invest in new programs and geographies. Up to 30% travel is expected. Salary: $130-180 + bonus, commensurate with experience.
Qualifications: BS in science or engineering, MBA strongly preferred, and 8-12 years of classical marketing and product management experience at heavy industrial, B2B, and/or technology companies and a track record of successfully launching new technologies into a variety of market segments; ideal candidates will have experience in the renewable energy, energy storage, telecom, or utility industries. A record of career stability and professional progression, demonstrated accomplishments in customer-focused problem solving, and proven leadership skills in a cross-functional environment are mandatory, as are exceptional clear thinking and willingness to accept total accountability for program execution. Six Sigma expertise and fluency in Chinese, Hindi, German and/or Spanish are pluses.
