Executive Job Description | A leading global medical technology and diagnostics company that makes and sells medical devices, instruments and reagents seeks a Director of Technical Marketing, Hypodermic for its New Jersey location. The emphasis of this position is to set the direction of global hypodermic delivery systems marketing, primarily responsible for US and regional execution of strategies to maintain and improve the Hypodermic platform position. This leadership role is accountable for global brand, product, and life-cycle marketing management of the Hypodermic Product Lines, establishing clear annual and multi-year strategic marketing plans, and delivery of revenue performance expectations within the platform. This person will directly manage marketing staff that is responsible for developing and maintaining market segmentation, positioning, pricing, and product development plans to produce maximum sales, growth and profitability. He/She will establish and maintain a strong competitive position through strategic and tactical identification of marketing opportunities.
KEY DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Will set direction for short term strategy development with the platform team leader. Accountable for executing marketing activities to ensure the achievement of expectations related to short term strategy development - Responsible for U.S. competitive strategy/pricing strategy to achieve market share objectives within relevant profitability bounds - Supports long-term platform strategy, identifies growth opportunities and potential concepts - Responsible for strategy/tactic development and execution related to achieving platform performance objectives for the U.S. segment. - Sets direction for product marketing plans to ensure the achievement of financial/budget expectations and product line strategies - Responsible for providing expertise and support WW with regard to market conversion to safety hypo - Supports the development of ex-US competitive strategy. Supports functional leadership for U.S. and WW product development activities; - Product launch success, new products and line extensions - Mentors and develops marketing staff in establishing general product management fundamentals - Establish performance standards for subordinates, either direct reports or team members. Appraise, guide, correct and approve performance of staff through merit review and counseling. - Provides ongoing direction and training and development of assigned personnel. - As a functional leader for Medical Surgical US marketing, accountable for the achievement of key marketing goals contributing to the achievement of Unit financial goals - Responsible for monthly demand forecasts and quarterly financial forecasts - Responsible for U.S. competitive strategy/pricing to achieve market share objectives within relevant profitability bounds. - Makes strategic recommendations or decisions regarding market opportunities and controllable spending; erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in considerable to substantial expenditure of human capital and budgeted resources - Establishes, implements and maintains "best practices" in brand marketing and product development marketing. - Functional signoff for all marketing phase gate requirements in company product development process for assigned product areas, regional and global. - Accountable for marketing compliance with ISO training standards - Compliance with all local, state, federal and company safety regulations/policies/procedures. - Compliance with all local company quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound Quality Assurance principles. - Responsible for marketing expense budgeting process including quarterly and annual expense forecasting for related projects
WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED: - Bachelors degree in a life science or technical discipline is required - MBA in marketing is strongly preferred - A minimum of 10 years of business experience in the medical device industry with a minimum of 10 years in product and/or market management is required. Business experience may include marketing, sales, sales training, business development. - Direct supervision of professional associates is required - Must have a working knowledge in Brand Marketing. |
